After weeks of dicking around with the brakes on my 75 TA, including trying to bleed the master cylinder in the car and the front brakes this morning, I have finally got the brakes working properly.
I was headed to Bunnings for a couple of bits and pieces and stopped at the brake place on the way to see if they had any 3/8 24 unf bleed screws. The guy gave them to me for free, went back home and fitted it and accidentally left it slightly undone, so it gravity bled itself. Got in the car and pumped the pedal and it was stiff, for the first time in weeks. Gave it a proper bleed and holy crap, the car feels like it did when I first bought it (without the rear brake lockup at 30kmh). Last edited by bumble_76; 30-09-2017 at 09:27 AM.. |

Still on the Impala. Got it registered today, drove it to the local BP to fill up, then noticed I had a massive fuel leak. Waiting on a new, hopefully not so loud fuel pump to rock up before sorting it.
I also discovered the Fuel and Temp gauges in my custom Dakota Digital dash are wrong. The fuel gauge reads the temp, and the Temp Gauge reads the fuel level. ![]() F*cking thing never ends.

Bugger the black art of auto electrics strikes again.
---------- Post added at 11:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:49 PM ---------- Bought a new boot rubber will fit it on the weekend hopefully it will stop exhaust gasses entering the vehicle via the boot . Car is ok if you drive with the windows up but as soon as you cruise at anything above 40mph the venturi effect of windows down causes the fumes to sucked from the back through the boot and into the cab.being a coupe you gotta cruise with the windows down. |

Replaced aforementioned boot seal. I climbed into the boot and got the missus to shut the boot reasoning behind this is if I can see light that's where the fumes could be entering.

![]() Today's job: Hunt down some torque specs and grab some Loctitie to fix this situation.
Having done a full suspension bushing swap, it turns out I left a few control arm collar bolts not as tight as they needed, and one managed to work its way loose. This happened as I pulled into my mechanics driveway. No more than 5 minutes prior, I was doing 110kmh on the freeway overtaking trucks ![]() ![]() ![]()
