Interstate permit

Hey guys have any of you gone West East or vice versa in an unregistered car on a permit? My brother and I are looking at driving one of his cars from Perth to Orange to drop off on our way to Motorex this year. He has driven it from Melbourne to Canberra and back before on a permit but not sure how we will go at the WA SA boarder.

Any info greatly appreciated.

Cheers

As far as I am aware.....

Getting an Unreg permit in Vic, = Eazy Peazy. They even fax them to you now, but they wont issue one for a trip that doesn't start in Vic.

Getting an unreg permit in NSW = Not so easy, because basically everything in NSW is harder. I understand it has to have a safety check or some rubbish first?

The rest of the states I am not sure.

Unbelievably NSW no longer requires a pink slip inspection for an unregistered vehicle permit, however the onus is on the driver to ensure it complies to pass a pink slip inspection.

Perth to Orange,.....why you even going near VIC??.....WA/SA/NSW

Hey Alan never said we were going to Vic just Perth to Orange. Don't need and inspection here either to get a permit just ring up and get it over the phone.
WA permit vaild for SA too and NSW is valid for every state except WA so should be no dramas.
Looking forward to the road trip. It's
been about 20 years since I did it last.

You won't get stopped on the way out Luke. Quarantine only stop you on the way into WA.
