A lil update (everything seems to take a lot longer than expected - aargh)

If we run the the RAC personal driving course - which is compulsory without AASA permit, or no previous track history there - it will cost approx $150 for a Ĺ day session

Now - I have started getting some feedback from AASA, Ö and so far, I reckon with the AASA permit I can hire the complete skid pan for the day - with a timed event - hopefully a lil less than that (Having the AASA permit takes the strain off the RAC Driving Centre)
This will include all drivers having to register for an AASA club license - $50 - which i have factored in to the basic price.

This would be based around about 20 - 25 cars attending though.

Am hoping to have solid prices back next week - its a slow process when i need feedback from one department before the other will talk to me - but weíre gaining traction

But if i think itíll get too exxy - mebbe iíll plead my case locally and get some sponsorship i know an insurance broker was interested - but for the moment iíll keep it on the down low til i can present final figures

Cheers for being patient crew
Justin

Cheers Russ,

Aiming to come in a fair bit cheaper than $200, licenses included, but donít want to preach just yet - until all the dust has settled on final necessary evils for this event.

But am feeling a lil amped to see a bunch of Ďol skool muscle/classics busting around a small track, just having a blast. And the good thing is, we can go as hard or safe as we want - and not have blue lights following us home

it is hard waiting - iím like a kid waiting for xmas

Hi Justin,

Hats off for organising this - well done.

Just a quick question - how are you managing weather with the track etc - is there an out/movement in the event of rain ?

Quite a valid point Warren,

Haven't looked into cancellation options yet, but will now keep it in mind when finalising the booking.

It is an all tarmac area, but I do understand not everyone likes to play in the rain

More updates this week

OK - here's the date

Apoca-Laps v1.0

Sunday 4th May @ Perth RAC Driving Centre

Will be $150 for the morning ( 3 different tracks - as many runs on each as we can squeeze in)

Limited to 16 cars for each session, if we get too many we can split it over two sessions AM & PM.

Not a timed event, so everyone can come and give it as much, or as little, as they want - and legally see what the old muscle or classic is good for

This will be a perfect precursor for any follow up events, which will enable us to see whether this circuit is suitable, and will give me more time to get correct AASA permits, insurance and event documents well and truly sorted - and I think will be even better value for us to run more cars when the time arrives

Anyway - i'll extend the invitation on this forum before I look outside the box to fill numbers

Bring your game face! haha

RAC DC will setup a system so individuals can pay direct, rather than entrust me with all that lovely moola

More info as it comes to hand

Justin
