Would be great to go out there in an open area to have some fun. No worries if you get a bit out of shape. My car arrived this week. It's a beast to drive, never had a big block before! Agree about the lap seat belts, I'm not so keen on them.

most entrants get a lil red mist under the visor and end up a little crossed up or on the lawn - but she’s all good when there’s buggar all to run into - you don’t mind pushing the envelope

there’ll definitely be another run towards the end of the year - probably a few more cars this time though - be good to see you out there Roy, getting all sideways like the rest of us

Justin,
I don't mean to mock you more about not being able to drive your beast at the moment (well maybe a little), but I've finished the promo vid I mentioned I was putting together.

All,
Please have a watch and let me know if there's anything you want me to change.
Once I get the all clear I'll throw it up on Facebook and allow the general public to join in the excitement for ApocaLaps 1.1.

Haha - all good Tom, for the time being I'm just sitting in the car making car noises (which reminds I need to lean on Heidts again - and rattle their cage)

Mate, I reckon that vid is bloody great! Top work!! I can only imagine it must have soaked up a fair bit of time too.
Love that soundtrack - being a massive Audioslave fan couldn't have picked it better

Had to laugh at the 'redmist' moments towards the end - absolute classic
(I see you kept Angelina's efforts pure, very classy - but wouldn't have been offended if it was in there, in case were worried )

Stellar effort - can't wait to rack up some more footage

Thinking around Nov 2 or 9 at this stage?? Early Oct is usually plagued with rain ... but open to suggestions

Cheers, didn't take too long, did the majority on Sunday. Yeah the song fitted with what i was going for nicely, I went through every classic American rock I had but nothing really stood out. I then remembered I used to crank Audioslave when I had my first car. Solid intro but then keeps firing all the way through, love it. very tricky to shorten, was able to hide the cut with the sound of big blocks though

Hopefully the quality is bearable. Because I used a mix of high and low definition I sort of had to meet in the middle.

I did have that moment where you were playing the drums with your steering wheel in order to stay on track, but it ended up getting cut as it didn't fit between other shots.
Was a good recovery, you're one of the few that didn't hit the grass and/or cones.

I think my favorite part is the bonus ending, very entertaining without edit

Its a bit grainy in places, but the entertainment outweighs it by far

Feel free to drop it on the 'Laps FB page, or i'm happy to do it with your blessing

Auto-X-travaganza :P

Hey gang, we're thinking of running an autocross mini-series, perhaps 3-5 events over a similar period of weeks - just checking our options now

Will only be autocross, and similar short track stuff, which should keep the costs down somewhat

A short series should allow any guys/gals working away to at least be able to slot into 1-2 events

Plus it gives some of us an outlet to scratch that competitive itch

Will update as info comes to hand
