69 RS Convertible

Hi all i hve been a member here for a few months now and recentliy recieved my import approval for my 69 convertible.
It no longer has original drive train but has been replaced with a 396 crate and 4 speed manual transmission.
Car is still in California getting a bit of a makeover before coming home hopefully around March.
Plans started off small but keep growing (you all know how it is).No longer has these rims as Boze mesh have been ordered.
Here are a few picturese of how it sits right now.
Will update as time permits.

Gotta love Cortez Silver with black D90 stripes. Yum.
The houndstooth is nice too.

Thanks for all the positive comments. I must admit i thought long and hard about buying a convertible but very happy now. The houndstooth in the back is new but the fronts have seen better days so i am getting new covers and foam from TMI.

Ok so work is progressing slowly which gives me time to think. When it arrives in Aus i have to decide whether to club reg or full reg, i know good points for and against. As i understand because it is a 69 it needs an engineering certificate prior to full reg, and this included with stamp duty and rego will cosy me about $4000 plus whatever the engineer decides needs fixing or changing to meet compliance. Club reg only a few hundred dollars but i cant use my personal plates. Anyway hope to have some pics to post up soon, nothing exciting but progress is happening i suppose.
Cheers all.....

check manufacturing/completion date of the car - anything prior to Jan 1 1969 should see no requirement for engineer. My 69 mustang was produced in 68, may be something to consider

How can you prove it was a 68 build.

Here's how to decode VIN info
You should be able to find build date information here

Small update, my wheels are finished and have been shipped out today.

They are Boze mesh brushed satin centres with polished hoops with nitto 555 tyres.

18x8 4.75 b/s front and 18x9 5.250 b/s rears

They were ordered through Zac at Boze in the USA .
