Cool Muscle Car / Old School Autokhana - Perth, just might happen

Ok teamsters,

Iíve just chatted with the events dude at RAC Driving Centre, and am pretty happy with what they can offer for our needs;

* Short tracks for our low diffs / older cars
* Wide open area that donít care if we get a lil crazy in/out of apexes
* Big spectator viewing area
* Track marshalís provided, so we can focus on talking cars
* Parking should be ok (unless we get swamped)
* Food is up to us - we can use a BBQ/setup a coffee van/whatever we want to organise
* Lots of shelter in case of too much sun (or rain )

Only negative - is that we canít officially time the event, or be seen to, as this elevates the event to requiring AASA permits, and will bump up costs considerably. Was thinking we could trial an event (he said if weíre discreet he doesnít care if we personally time ourselves) and if there was a calling for it iíd be happy to up the ante to a proper comp.

A condition is that all driverís sit through a basic race brief before racing, discussing the fine points of opposite lock when powering out of a corner - probably

What I need, though, is numbers of enthusiasts keen for an event - which would decide whether we hire for Ĺ or full day
Thought iíd get some feedback here before i approached circles outside this forum

But will keep entries limited to steel bumpers - for our viewing pleasure

At this point in time I was considering the Sat 26th April - and there is availability - but am open to suggestion

track options below

Sweet .. iím sure thereíll be more to come

The track would like to run a race brief for the course - and did request to run a first lap inside each car to point out tips to the drivers (1st lap only) - but Iíll follow up because iím sure he said it was optional and at discretion of drivers.

Still divided if i want someone in my car yet - other than mates n friends

I'm super keen to see this happen even if I just watch or take pics. Well done on your planning and research so far Justin.
My lack of suitable stoppers is my problem as well as body roll due to a still original front end. oh HELL YEAH too......

Ive done this here many times and the less cars cycling through the better. Obviously prices go up but you will get more time. They are a little leaniant on sliding the car a bit but if you start to take the pi55 they will kick you off.
Its good though i learnt alot about my car and its limits. The best would be their race track. Also you can hire both motorkana tracks and make 1 big one ive never done the dual but watched a few days there and it looks like much more fun.
Unfortunately for me i will be ordering my new suspension in a few weeks but not sure when i will get the time to weld in the 4 link and coilovers before this date its too tight so i cannot commit even though i would love to

Yep, count me in, although was planning to race at the 'plex on 26th. I will definately need a navigator Lyndsay for some of those courses

Hey Justin is a US muscle powered (LS1) Corolla allowed to come along. If so 3rd-4th May would suit. Cheers
