Words almost fail me. I was lucky enough to spend some time with Steve on one of my trips to Melbourne. Always willing to help and offer advice to those of us facing automotive challenges. Steve's perseverance and quest to make his Camaro the best it could be is an inspiration. RIP mate.

I can't believe I just read this. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. Probably the most knowledgeable car guy I have ever met. I was also equally fond of his details to his build, his love for Weihenstephaner beer, coffee, donuts (especially jam filled) and 80s metal.
So glad I was able to meet him in person a few times. R.I.P. Steve.

I'm completely stunned.Because of my introverted ways, I never had the opportunity to meet the man, now I wish I had. What I do know from being a member on here was that Steve harnessed so much information when it came to just about anything to do with USM, more importantly, he also had the talent to take on any mechanical challenges that were put in front of him, I wish I had just a poofteenth of that knowledge and talent.
My condolences to his Family and friends. May he rest in peace. A touching tribute to your friend Deano, well said.

Holy Sh1t - so this isn't a hoax then
![]() Buggar - he will surely be missed in this forum for his wealth of knowledge and OCD attention to detail to GM's finest steel, an unfortunate loss indeed.

I never met Steve, only spoke to him on the phone. Sounded quite young.
Does anybody know what happened? Was he sick? Accident? |

I was fortunate to have met Steve at the Flemington car show many years ago whilst we were both admiring a car. Not knowing who he was, he was happy to engage in conversation with me with his pleasant and warm manner sharing his thoughts and praise for a particular car.
It was only when I became a Forum member some time after that when I quickly realized the person I had met held such a profound stature on the USMuscle Forum. It became very apparent that Steve was in a league of his own with his technical knowledge on every automotive aspect. He applied this plethora of knowledge with a hands on approach tackling any job without fear making all challenges appear easy. His posts on all his works were simply amazing. But what I admire most about this man I never got to know is his overwhelming desire to assist anyone with help, advise and share his knowledge in a gracious manner. This speaks absolute volume about Steve’s character. What an inspirational trait he had. My sincere condolences to Steve’s family and friends. Rest in peace. |

I have not written in ages in this forum, however would always read the comments on his build as there was always great knowledge.
I cannot believe what has happened. He was such a nice guy, always willing to help. I would call him every now and then to have a laugh, it is so sad what has happened. When is the funeral? would love to attend with my Chevelle in honour of Steve. God bless you Blackout

What??
What?? He just got back too me last Thursday in regards to my question about the Eastlink and club plates. As Always Steve would always get back and help everyone. I cannot believe this, cannot believe it... I never met the man but for all the times he posted on here , thank you Steve! Thank you brother. May the wind always be at your back and the sun upon your face, And may the wings of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars. PS: I would suggest a car meet in Melbourne, what is that place he used to meet other members at? Let's get together and whatever anyone can chip in, let's pass it on to his family. He deserves at least that much form all of us.. |
