If someone could helpwould be great! done a bit of a google and search and found the first number but the rest are unknown.

On the rear 3970011
On the front block could be either 0 Q C then E4379

Also on the back it has h284 and h4

Heads 3932441 = which found is 69-70 76 cc ??
Crank 3932442 = 3.48 stroke

Just confused is the last digits the year 79??

Anywayz looks like they will need manchining as I cyclinder is rough and got corrosion or dents in it.

---------- Post added at 05:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:07 PM ----------

On wiki they refer to most 350 as L ** But i cant see any L ** on the block etc

Been doing some reading on this lately. If you havn't figured it all out yet, here's what I cam up with.

h284 = Month Day Year
H = August (A = January / B = February / C = March etc)
28 = 28th Day
4 = 19*4
(* = the decade. 64, 74 etc. Going by the date range of the casting numbers on your heads, it would be 1974)

Heads: # 3932441
Year: 67-79
HP: Used for 250 & 255 HP engines.

Crank: # 3932442
Year: 69-85
Stroke: 3.48

0, Q or C then E4379, as you put it.

It'll be CE4379. CE is a Warranty replacement block. It was not released from the factory in a vehicle.

Hope that helps

Not sure about QLD, but in NSW the car doesn't have to painted for rego. So long as it's in primer, it's fine.

If you're going for a specific colour, rather than prime it and paint it cheaply - how's about leaving it in primer? You can colour tint primers.

If budget is a concern, it might help.

Yer I thought about that but I just picked up some cheap white.

Anyone used either JT American Imports or PJ American Engine Imports ???????

PJ is based on the goldcoast can get a 350 chev engine rebuilt for 2300 thinking of going on of them and save stuffing around rebuilding mine.

JT has been in the industry for years, longer than I can remember and I am in my 40's.

Most engine reesllers purchase rebuilt or parts only engines from JT, even eagles in the past used them with their 502 engines.

Their reputation is fairly good or else they would not have wethered the industry for so long.

they are offering a lot direct now, and offer bbc mainly 427 454 and sbc. They are rebuilding in house now. they are a good price for they seem to offer.

The other one I can not comment on as I am a melbourne person, home of the greens. I wreckon we all listened to our mums! now eat your greens they will make you big and strong....

Yer I did a quick search and could only find one person talking bad about the company relating in importing stuff through them.

When i add up what i need in AUS its going to cost 1300+ without machining/cleaning/testing of block, heads and crank. Plus I need to sleeve one bore and still chasing dizzy,starter motor and intake

Unless I can pick up a full kit from the states which i'm trying to look into now, going their motor for 2300 is the way to go by the looks.

Anyone know if hq or that era extractors would fit a impala ???

Been keeping a eye out on hq era extractors to suit a 350 just wondering if they might fit. They seem to pop up on ebay every couple weeks.

Just wondering if there worth a shot instead of having to pay 600+

I bought a "rebuilt" 350 through JT. Never again....

4 top rings were upside down.
12 lifters failed.
The "high perf" valvesprings were the same pressure as the old ****ty ones i had in my 307..

Progress pics mate. We need pics!

Regarding the engine mounts. I'll check mine over the weekend and see what I have. My car is kept in storage, so I only ever get to it when I have to do something.

What engine are you putting in? I believe there are some differences pending engine size.

... and are your mounting brackets still on the car? (the brackets on the frame the motor mounts mount to). If so, measure them. They will tell you what motor mounts you'll need.

Energy suspension which is pretty much ponti world. I got new ball joints when getting my other gear.

Just keep in mind the prices they state are not including 10% until you check out which is stupid.

was around $500 all up. I didnt get the masterkit just grabbed stuff seperate.

upper / lower control arms and also rear
upper ball joints
tie rod boots
strut boots
sway links
d bushes for sway.

some stuff you have to use the old outer shells too.
