Just added a new car to collection :)

Hi all,

I know it's not a muscle car but most car guys will appreciate for what it is.

One of only genuine 500 Sigma Turbos GH ever made.

Less then 50 left in existence and the first turbo cars ever made in Australia by Australians This is also a low build no. car.

Car needs to be restored, before the engine issues, it made 450 HP

450, holy crap....I know they will survive a nuclear bomb...next door neighbour had a plain jane and he used it for everything, inc a tractor, don't think he ever did any maintenance on it and it just kept going

They made like a million of them but these ones are the real deal and
rare as anything.

I knew about them but never seen one in real life or for sale.

It's was a 2.6 worked engine,T04 high flow,MSD,methanol/water injection,locked diff and 28 psi.

It's not a heavy car either, the guy that owned said it was car that pissed off
a lot of guys with more $ cars , especially some guy in Ferrari Testerossa on Bruce hwy ,Brisbane

Probably rarer than the Peter Wherrett special of the same era not sure but they may even have shared the same rims.as for the GSR turbo's were they originally 2.0 litre powered?

That is correct, Petter Wherrett special was a limited production of only 1000 sigmas.

All they did is pick up a 1000 and trick the suspension and few other bits
to make a better driving car.

They were not performance cars but it seems that there are people that collect them.

GSR Sigmas are also different models too, they were not factory turbo either.

Most turbo sigmas you see these days, are not
genuine factory turbos, just standard cars with turbo engines.

That is why this car is so rare, and a part of Australian motor history that has to be saved for future generations

Typical 80's style I know what you mean.

It will be a bit of a sleeper.

Anything that can trash a commodore with a chevy badge, will do it for me

Knew a guy in high school that had a non-turbo Sigma, complete with a bonnet scoop (without cutting out a hole in the bonnet), and a second exhaust tip bolted to the other side of the car to fake the dual-exhaust look.

He was awesome.

That's great Russ, but if he didn't have a turbo badge on it, then it doesn't count hehe

That same guy now has a son with SV6 commdore and Chevy badge on it

Wanker is wanker either way

450HP no wonder there were engine issues! back in the 80's I worked for a Mitsubishi dealer for a short time they use to sell the Starion, a FWD turbo rocket ship, they use to go like stink but were hard on big end bearings if driven hard, use to stretch the rods!
