Anyone used an air locker, I am told they are popular with the 4x4 crowd.

I believe the yanks are referring to the Eaton posi style centre when they say they have a posi unit. (or the yukon copy) I could be wrong though.
As far as I was aware yes, the locker is fine. Been a long time since I looked but a mini spool/full spool keeps your wheels locked constantly where the locker was like a ratchet mechanism & would unlock going around corners depending how you are with throttle control.

Could well be wrong & never used one. Got me interested in responses from the guys that have.

Mine isn't on the road yet but I've got a true trac as well. From everything I've heard go the moser wave trac if you can. As Steve said, they're supposed to be stronger

My locker is fully engineered and fully legal.

Wave trac centres are not a direct replacement, need 35 spline axles and from memory carrier bearing are non standard. if you ring Western Suburbs Diffs in Brisbane he will be able to fill you in as he is the Australian agent for them Ph# 3376 1827

Why would a Detroit Locker be illegal?
They are a factory differential unit in Fords

Where do these stories come from?

ARB do make a 35 spline competition air locker for the 9inch, 40 spline is currently under development.
