Engine Masters - Fans

Interesting 17 mins.

I have twin AU elec fans on the Camaro.

But on the Buick the bog stock 350 SBC (330hp) came with the plastic fan represented here in this video.

I have no shroud though, as I have a Race Radiators rad.

May have to look into a clutch fan for it, get some HP back

I do enjoy their videos. The only complaint I have heard about that one is that there will be air blowing through the radiator at speed and that could change the results. I do have one of those factory steel fixed fans on my motor though, so probably time to try something else. An extra 30 HP would probably get me in the 12's. I do have a factory spec steel flex fan, so that could be worth a try except for the stories of the blades snapping off occasionally.

Darren, at the end they actually ran the last one again with no Rad in front of it. It slightly improved over the shrouded rad run. But not by much.

I was thinking more of high pressure air being forced into the engine bay when you are traveling at speed, not sure if it would make any difference, maybe they should have run it with one of those large fans in front of the radiator like they do when your car is on the dyno.
