I was thinking the same thing just yesterday.
I'm having a garage sale next weekend, and then, I can begin stripping out my suspension and brakes in readiness for my new bits which should be getting close to arriving in port.

Sorry no updates, been flat out at work but in 2 weeks time will be getting it down off the stands, outside for a good wash and then backin the shed for a fit up of a front end roller set up so I can take the wheels and suspension off and still move it around the shed. Plans are to rip out the shock towers and replace(new ones sitting in the shed) and clean up the engine bay.
I'll be back in a couple weeks Baz so shout if you need a hand.

Cheers Denton, sounds like you still have a lot to get sorted yourself.

No Pics but an update on parts.
Just placed an order for:
Coan C4 trans and convertor set up
Concept one pulley set up
VHX gauges

Should be here in a month so need to get after the engine bay, wash, blast and replace shock towers.
Now I have an excuse for an new welder

Nice!
Coan C4 is getting serious
Plus - I really like the VHX gauges from Dakota too - I've put a set in my next dream rebuild

Its good to hear people like the VHX gauges.

Been plodding along last weekend and after work trying to get the car to a point of changing out the shock towers. Built a zimmer frame for the front end so I could take the suspension off and clean up the front.

Once I have some more pics downloaded I'll have the suspension and steering out.

Tonights effort to get it down to a shell

and looking a bit sad all naked and all.

Was happy when I started to take some of the undercoat off that it was virgin paint and metal underneath. So far so good

Hi Denton.

Nice work. I notice it looks like your car doesn't have the shock tower outer reinforcement. Mine didn't either, so I bought them.

These :

Should stiffen up the towers a bit.

Hi Frank, I removed them along with the fenders awhile ago. I did buy a shock tower reinforcement set of plates that g around the base of the new towers and tie into the top of the frame frame. There'll be lots of welding going on at some point.

Got to the point of removing one of the towers tonight and it asked for the sawzall. thought I had all the spot welds done ......and I did but found the entire inside edge welded to the frame. No way that was coming out with just a spot weld drill bit, so hacked most of it off.

They look pretty solid ... what's the plan ? New K-Frame or notched towers ?
