Two pak'd the roof on the wagon. Spent way more time prepping and sanding then I normally do. Started spraying and one whole side of the roof fish eyed, serves me right for trying to do it properly.

Tried to replace the proportioning valve. Had to cut the rear brake line because the flare nut was rusted solid. Now tossing up whether I buy the bits to make my own or take it somewhere to have it done.

Do it yourself Chris, Go to ABS they will sell you the nut for $1 and even a reasonable double flare kit from a good tool shop will do the job. I had same issue on the buick, had to cut both off. replaced both for under $50

I just did the timing chain/gearset on the 455. It's a job I usually do at 100,000 miles, but being slack, I left it to 120K.

Everything came apart and went back together relatively painlessly.

The engine had a double row timing set on it, but it was well worn. The job cost me virtually nothing, as I already had all the part lying around. I think the most expensive thing was the Cloyes timing set that I bought years ago from Ebay that cost me $20 (I have another new set on the shelf for the next 100,000).

Cleaned the dust off it, and did a couple of other small jobs.
