I'm real suspicious about facebook. There's just something underlying and sinister about it.
I don't think I would ever want to use them to host my pictures.

I have heaps of pictures on FB, dont see why it would be any different to photobucket to me?
In fact its a lot easier to upload

to paste that pic from facebook you to put

nowadays facebook is where people are going to promote events, sell cars and parts etc.

From a business side of thing facebook now charge to promote a post , event or product, but its cheap

Not sure if it was real or not, but I remember FB owning the rights to images uploaded. Not only that, with the huge about of money FB make and how they aim and restrict content to you, I just don't trust them or like the way their algorithms work..

This is interesting.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9ZqXlHl65g

That's quite an interesting perspective on things and one of the reasons I decided to setup my own hosting arrangements, that way I am not locked into anything where there is a commercial interest.

I read up on this a while back. Facebook don't own your images, but due to their Terms of Agreement when you sign up, when you post something they do have the right to use it - until it is wholly deleted.

So if you post an image of your car, Facebook has a right to use that image if they want to. IF the image is deleted, that right is renounced. However ... if you or a friend shares the image to a secondary FB page, and you delete your copy but not the shared image - they can still use it.

Essentially, if it is on Facebook - they can use it. They don't have exclusive rights to it, but they can use it. It's something like "shared intellectual property". If you make money off your image that you posted (selling posters, etc) Facebook don't get a cut - the flip-side is, if Facebook decide to use your image for promotions, they can, and you don't get a cut.

I tried that with my car event posts and every few months they change all the links, so all my pics were no longer visible on forums.

Check out my thread full of fb pics here:

Mine are still editable. I think only subjects need mod power to be changed.

The "Header", as in, the title of the thread? Yeah, we can change.

I'll change this thread's title from "Photobucket" to "Photobucket." (just add a full stop)

---------- Post added at 07:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:28 PM ----------

See..

Up the top right, go to "Thread Tools" Jim.
