---------- Post added at 04:12 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:07 AM ---------- Lately it is,...been bloody slow,....seems I gota take one step fprward n 3 steps back,..... Issue with column floor mounts n drop mounts, nothin is working....having to fight it every step of the way atm,..... Gotta sort the column forst, get it mounted n then make the right length double D shaft for the steering shaft down to the Jag rack, Once thats done its get the left hand headers modified to fit around th headers after that the front sheetmetal can go on n she can start taking shape ---------- Post added at 04:15 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:12 AM ---------- Thanks mate,...ot a patch on your Nova,...but itll be OK,....kinda picked my target,.....Patina n all topside paint n blemishes to stay,.. But underneath itll be all painted n clean n tidy... Inside will be all new but not to flashy,...gonna have VA AC / Heat / Demist ....plus power windows n central locking Might end up half bad looking after all...

Got the left hand header modified as the one that came with the XR8 nearly fitted,...but wouldnt clear the steering shaft .
It needed a bit if massaging the the two rear pipes . When we actually got the pipes in n the rear 2 pipes cut it became obvious that the pipes needed more than a slight massage,....my mate the fabricator decided to cut the collector off n relocate it slightly , then run the back two pipes n get them tacked in place, after that he cut a bit moe put of the front pipes n then added new pieces n got them all tacked up,... we refitted them n everything looked very good , then he bolted them down to a head on the bench n tig welded them all back together Now thats done tomorrow she goes fr a quick trip to the upholsterer to measure n check for a headliing n upholstery on the back of the cab behind the seats. Then its off to the panel shop where the front sheetmetal is being repaired so the mounting bolts all are able to reach the speednuts n mount properly. Then a quick drop in on the way home to redo the two brake lines on the diff as we made them too wide n theyll foul the bump rubbers on full bounce. shortening each by an inch will work n allow clearance,.. Then its off home to start fitting the rest of the front sheetmetal n bits moving towards final assembly .

Headers modified n steering shaft done, 80% of the column mounting done,..
moving onto getting the big bits back together ,... Mounted the front sheetmetal back onto the front end,.....went well ,..except for one small issue the AC Compressor mounts out on the lefthand side of the engine...and manages to occupy some of the space that the AC Pump . Originally Ford made the inner guards with a lump to clear the shock mount on the backside, of course the AC Compressor manages to be right in the same spot,...so looks like some slice n dice therapy to remove the lump n make a flat panel in its place should fix that . next is seatbelt mounting and once the inner guards are done its finish off the front wiring to the headlights front blinkers fans n AC power lines...

Got stuck into the inner guard on the left,...factory lump in the guards is right up against the AC Compressor.
So inner guard slice n dice 101,...took a whole piece about 400mm x 550mm,.out n replaced it with a nice gently curved piece . once that was done we mounted the radiator on the bottom mounts n then fitted my new V2.1 top mounts, and I gotta say im really happy with the wait turned out, not only do they fit really nice n also provide the radiator cover panel with a hidden mount for the radiator cover panel, Got the front refitted to check clearance n see how the cover looks n fits..think it looks good,..just gotta work out how n where Im running overflows n expansion tanks...

More progress on the inner guards done the right side to maatch n got rid of the big lump on the inner guards...
Cut it out n welded in a new piece,....came up pretty good....spuirted some paint on it,,.. My idea ir that itll be crusty n patina on top n outside,....but open the bonnet n look in the engine bay n itll be detailed n painted nice.....same inside the cab... Onto sorting the Vintage Air bit n pieces having fun beacuse Im using the Ford AU AC Compressor n Condensor,....mating the Ford n VA fittings together is a pit of a PIA,....worked out well use the first piece of the Ford mounting blocks n silver solder them to the VA AC Fittings Inner guard patch. Inner guard with a bit of paint, looks OK Front shock mounts V2.0 Vintage Air fitting kit n bits n pieces . Ford ends,...hmmm.

After that its on to the cab n wirewheel the floor , put down soundproofing n dummy up Vintage Air /HVAC evaporator under dash mounting brackets and it goes on,...a few little jobs,,,,a bracket on the radiator mounting to mount the oil coolers. then run AC lines n the front half of the wiring harness n plug in the headlights n fan wires ,..mount the dryer / reciever etc

Well been a little while,..had some progress,....n a step backwards in others....
Finally got all the AC all mounted,....n lost half a glovebox.....AC lines n hoses done n crimped...Oil Coolers mounted n hoses sorted n connected, radiator expansion tank sorted n mounted....just hunting final refill hose....heater hoses about to be finalised waititng on one 90degree /AN 10 fitting... All the wiring n dash all done n back together, final wiring n relays to headlights, fans all done...AC all wired,...taillights n rear lights n blinkers wired....just waiting on Dakota Digital Speedo GPS antenna.... had to mini tub the inner rear guards 3/8" clearance was a bit too tight for me....so we stretched em 70mm to line up with the corrugations in the floor....worked out really good....some fake patina n my artistic spray can ability worked out well.... decided that the inside paint on the door n door jambs wasnt quite up to scratch ,...so sanded em back n painted them.....spent 1/2 a day figuring out how to fit AU Falcon electric windows in the F100 doors,...think Ive got that sussed.....
