V8 Supercar engines

Or just Supercars as it is now called.

Does anybody have any info on the engines used in the Fords & Holdens? Are they Ford & Holden/GM engines, or a mandated engine? Any info on the engine specs/rules etc appreciated.

The Penske Fords seemed to dominate this year so far, with more straight line speed than all the other cars. No other Ford team seems to be even close, so what does Penske know that the others don't?

I think they are limited. They are US race engines limited to 7500 rpm and 10:1 comp. but I don't know if they are power limited

From Wikipedia, "both Ford and Holden use US-based racing engines with pushrod actuated valves and two valves per cylinder". Somewhere else said "5.0 L Ford "Windsor" SVO or Chevrolet Aurora race engine ", but that was a few years ago so might not be current. Penske probably has more money that everybody else, that will usually do it.

Horsepower helps,...but good suspension set up can sling shot you off a turn with more momentum.....thats what circuit racing is all, about...
Ludo LeQuare from 888 is now as Penske........hes a pretty smart dude...
Expect that n Penskes engineering back up to pay dividends..
