Speaking of specials - First Choice has 3 spirits for $90. The Canadian Club spiced whiskey is bloody nice. !

Not pointing at Rodent or anyone else I swear. I just remember when this forum was about having a bit of a laugh and helping people where I could. It seems to have taken a little detour of late and not for the better. I have met and like most of you crims. If we could get back to helping each other out that’d be good. There’s enough pressure on forums existence these days from twitbook. That’s all I’ll say on the matter.

Let's bloody hope not, eh!!

I may have been off here for a while due to other stuff, but those that have been around USM for a while will know that I wouldn't be anywhere with my car if not for the amazing knowledge and friendly assistance on here. Seriously.

As more of a motorcycle background guy, I freely admit to not know knowing jack sh!t about anything to do with these old cars when I got mine nearly 10yrs ago. Had no idea what a flexplate was, how how to adjust a drum brake or how easily a rear seat can be removed.

But neither did I know the feeling of satisfaction from removing a 40yo clapped-out part and replacing it with a shiny new one, the sense of achievement from overcoming a mechanical obstacle.. or the amazing feeling from cruising behind a rumbling big block with the windows down on a sunny day as strangers gave you the thumbs up.

This would never have been possible if not for the USM stalwarts on there, Jim and Steve included.. with both of them wrenching a spanner in my garage for their sole benefit of helping out another brother (and maybe a few frothies).

For them - and so many car guys on here - that may not seem a big deal, and is just part of the course of the 'car guy' lives they live. But for many others like myself, it is valuable beyond measure. And certainly nothing you get from Facebook groups... that I guarantee you.

So here's to hoping that all who read this post understand the truly positive benefit of this forum... after all it is only what each of us make it - Otherwise it's just a dormant page with a rotating header.

I look forward to learning much more from Jim, Steve and the dozens of other legends on here that may be quietly lurking, but I'm sure will spring to life should one of their brothers ask for assistance.

Because the USM experience to date has been priceless thanks to you blokes For that I thank you.

I mirror your sentiments Deano. If it wasn't for this forum my 69 would probably still be on a rotisserie.

I think the photobucket debacle has got a lot to do with people not contributing as much as they use to, see this on the other forums as well.

Facebook is absolutely useless for accumulating any sort of knowledgebase, but forums everywhere have been hit hard by it's popularity

Hopefully people will return as facebook becomes increasingly more commercial and ad driven. But then foums are not without their own issues.

PS: I did make the bit up about Rodent being banned, he is obviously just missing in action somewhere.
