My 68 Firebird !

This is my 68 Firebird.
I started it from a bare shell back in 2005 & this is how it is today.
Exterior is Ford Shockwave Blue with Billet Specialties Street Stars in 17x8.
Interior is a new Deluxe trim kit.
Runs a 406 small block Chev, Turbo 400, 12 bolt with 3.73 gears.
Its a fun weekend cruiser & occasionally ges out to the track.
Has run a best of 11.3 @ 118mph but always playing with stuff to get it going a bit better.

Wow! What a stunner you've built there Scotty.- so much to love about the tasteful, ballsy mods... Def dig it big time. Sensational pix too.

What's the extinguisher mounted too? The deluxe armrest?

Thanks for all the good comments everyone.

chevval - Mine came from the factory with a stock small block

Nev68 - I am up to about 600 photos since I started it. Anything in particular you want to see ?

Yellow66 - Shockwave Blue looks better on GM stuff

RAW454 - The fire extinguisher bracket holes were in the exact spot where the holes were in the trim which screw into a factory metal bracket.

guffer - The 0067 plates were on both of my previous 67 model cars. I have had them for 15 years & the RTA doesn't deserve any extra money from me so now it just means 6.7ltr

GM064 - Hey Greg, I did look at this forum a while back but have only just been reminded of it, old age When are you coming up to Sydney for another run ?

Hey Scott,

Not coming up for a while. Am saving like mad to go to the states. Andrew and I bought our tickets 2 weeks ago...then Qantas decided to have a sale . If we had waited until this week we would have saved $500 each. Not to worry, just means I have to save a bit more .

Just some shots to get a feel for your build.
Did you come across any serious issues (rust, damage etc) that you didn't expect?
...or was it in spectacular condition under the paint ?(I am assuming you stripped the car)

I bought it from Adelaide. The car was paint stripped. Towed it home to Sydney & had it all bead blasted. One rear floor pan was replaced then just the usual spots like bottom of front guards & in windscreen corners but no, nothing major.
These pics there is some straight after blasting, some in primer & some just painted.
