Got a new ride a week ago, been on my bucket list for a long time. Opportunity came up so I went for it.

Heres a couple more pics.

Its a 56 F100 Custom Cab, found it about 20 min drive from my house.

Imported 5 years ago, full rego as it sits now, all stock suspension and brakes. Corners well.......maybe not

Stops on a dime.........maybe not

Justified it as a daily, as long as the brakes get upgraded and it proves to be reliable for a few months. So far so good.

This is why its confused, SBC and 700R, but it does run pretty smooth

Changed the title of the thread, truck was confused with sbc power in a ford.
My sheds not biased.

Ahh.. well, don't feel alone. There's about a million SBC and now LS powered 32 & 33 Fords out there.

This is just my view, yours may be entirely different.

Regarding the brake upgrade you mentioned, we've all met guys that have old cars with crook drum brakes and they assume that all drum brakes are like that, so they have to upgrade them with an expensive after market conversion - which is fine.

However, if you actually take the time to get the drums working properly, you'll find that drum brakes actually work pretty well.

When I say "working properly", I don't mean adjust the shoes and away you go. Get the drums machined, use TOP QUALITY linings and make sure all the hydraulics are in good shape. Things like wheel cylinders are actually pretty cheap. If you're handy around your car, it's something you could take care of in your back yard in a few hours.

"Daily" I wonder how long until a thread called "muscle truck build" appears.

Looks awesome as is though!

Very common in the states to covert to sbc in the f-trucks. From what I've read they fit easier than a clevo/windsor due to where the oil filter is located and some other clearance issues.
