Picked up the Roadrunner today

It was a bit rainy and windy with a chance of hail this afternoon so got it home and under cover.

Thanks to Matt and the organising he did to get out of Canada and all the way here. I called my uncle this morning and let him know his pride and joy made it safely down under. When I jumped in to start it, just put the key in and turned. Had been sitting in the warehouse for a week and started easier than my Toyota.
Finally, its a good feeling to have it here.

Should have put a photo up of yourself when you picked it up. I imagine you would have been grinning pretty hard! The boat arrived into Freo on Friday with the GTO but due to a paperwork issue am forced to wait. Getting very annoyed now....

WOW Denton looks even cooler now that its sitting in your driveway.

Mark, fingers crossed things go a bit faster for you regarding the GTO.

The car had a leak from the heater core so I disconnected the heater hoses and put plugs on the water pump. Then I thought I'd clean a bit of the dust off, had it for 2 days already and hadn't washed it. I must have been waiting for some more rain cause I think I drained a good portion of the Mundaring dam washing this beast. I have never ever washed a car with that much sheet metal!

Awesome Denton.
Love the 'Runners, and yours looks wonderfully restored. I do hope you are going to see what that 383 is capable of.....and I'm envious of the paintjob!

Hey Mike
I do have the nostalgia drags in mind for this year if I'm home for it. I was chatting with my uncle and he had issues with it not starting after shutting it off hot, so I have some investigating to do. From what I've found the 383 could be susceptible to vapour lock and boiling the fuel in the carb. It has the stock manifold and it looks like the heat ports aren't blocked off. I'll have a play when I get a chance.
The colour is growing on me.

Yep, taking my car drag racing is high on my list of things to do once rego'd. As far as the carb - I've got a Torker II intake with a 4-barrel Holley, but after spending months pondering what I want, I'm thinking EFI is for me in the long run....specifically this: http://youtu.be/Sxhej9xbyk0

Green Rocks! God knows how many Black, Silver and Red cars (and combinations, thereof) I've looked at in the last 12 months. Viva La Difference!

Cheers.

Been pretty busy lately but took some time today to track down some high beam lights for aus compliance. I tried 3 different places with 3 different manufacturers and ending up going to Rare Spares and got them, cheap enough and they fit the buckets good. Win
Got the radiator minor leak fixed up last week so when the new heater core makes it here it should be ready to take over the pits. I'm shooting for a before xmas date to be on the road.
