You should be able to sneak in a a brake upgrade on the basis of safer for the kiddies.
Yes Phil, brakes are on the agenda, i think a disc front conversion will do the job.

OK, so i have been itching to modify my Impala and have kept the itch at bay for over 12 months and now i need to do something. The car is white and i'm bored with the colour and wanted a concept to lift the appearance and make the car more aggressive and something different.
I had this vision of my own spin of a Motion Performance style as if i had taken my car to Motion and asked for the usual mods they did to have the car ready for drag racing.
I know this is a forum and expect my proposal not to be everyone's cup of tea but i will float the idea and see what you guys think of it. I can deal with any negative comments i'm not sensitive. All mods to the paint would be in vinyl so i can tear it off if i hate it. Any suggestions on tweaks to it would be good.

I have already gathered a 530hp 427 and turbo 400. The wheels will be steel painted black with dog dish caps. I have worked out with some slight chassis mods around the rear spring and can squeeze in a 29 x 15 x 12.5 Hoosier drag radial on the rear.
So the look is low, fat rear tyres and some period drag style sign writing.

Maybe the rear 1/4 panel sign writing is a bit bold for a street car but this is just a mock up to see. The writing on the quarter panel is copied off a Baldwin Chevrolet sponsered camaro drag car.

Not so sure about the decals on the rear Qtrs but the rest looks good, as you said it's an easy fix if you don't like it.

Some good ideas there Rowan, you could also do your grille in satin black plasti - dip (spray on vinyl) and your bonnet black out, the beauty of plasti - dip is if you don't want it on any longer or don't like it you can just peel it off.

Google plasti - dip to get an idea of the product and how easy it is to use.

Rowan, Front on shot looks ace, stance is great, I would prefer a set of convos in the size you mentioned. As for the decals, I like the ones on the bonnet and front guards, maybe go smaller on the quarters.....
I like the chrome grille
Anyway, let the build begin.....gonna be a cool ride

Looks the goods to me but I would maybe balance that rear decal with something else on the doors. Reckon it will look tough as.

Satin black the brightwork - but keep the dog dish rims - if you need to change the look that is, coz she looks pretty sweet already (but a few black tones will dilute the full white suit she's currently wearing)

Thanks guys, some good feedback on the impala image. I,m leaning towards not doing the rear 1/4 and just run with the hood design to start off with and see how things go from there. I have read about the plasti dip and will keep that in mind.

On the wheels Greg, i can't buy the right offset from off the shelf wheels, I had my eye on going with auto drags but offsets are wrong. The only way I can squeeze those big tyres on is to have a 5-7/8 backspace. Other than that it would mean shortening the diff.

Yer Ben it's still a family cruiser, I have all the baby seat stuff sorted in the back but now it's going to be a family cruiser with attitude

Rowan
