My Rally Green 68 Camaro

I've had my Camaro for about 12 months now so I thought it was time I put some pictures of it up on the forum.
It was a one owner stock 327 power glide with factory air and steer. It had a rebuild 4 years ago in the states where all interior was redone along with paint, motor and trans.
I already have a 68 Camaro but this was a lot cleaner so I bought it on ebay for 17.5k U.S. when the dollar was parity so got a very good deal. It turned out that the car belonged to a good friend of John Hotchkis (Hotchkis Suspension) and it was John who had it on ebay to sell for his friend. As the car was at Hotchkis Suspension it made sense to get him to fit a 3" lowering kit including Bilstein shocks all round, springs all round and front and rear sway bars.

As the usual story goes I soon got over the standard engine and had another Camaro at home that I had a 383 stroker built for about 4 months ago so I had the 383 and Turbo 350 swapped from one Camaro to the other. The last thing i have left to do (famous last words) is change the diff to a 9" 3.55 Posi as mine has a 3.00 10 bolt single spinner which is great to cruise in but lacks some serious power down low.

Along with the engine swap I changed the radiator to an Adrad alloy one and thermo, replaced the standard 14" wheels and hubcaps over to 15" convo pros, disc brakes to replace the drums, fitted a factory fit B&M console shifter and fitted a new iPod friendly radio

How the car was when I bought it

Talking

Looks like a nice ride with all the changes. Helps when you already have the parts to do them.
It will be interesting if the sway bar fits around the larger 9inch pumpkin when you do the diff swap.
Anyway, keep us upto date with your resto.

I never gave the sway bar a thought when it came to the 9" decision, best I do some measuring before I go ahead and order it. Thanks for the tip

I would swear that 1st pic is a completely different car from the pic of the car with convo`s and in the sun. Really dig the green, it`s different.

Your right about the pictures, I've never had a car paint job where the sun makes such a difference.

Thanks, it was nice to finally get a car where a subtle change made the biggest difference.

The difference in looks with the wheels is unbelievable. I've not long got myself a 69 thats also Rallye Green except it has a slight green pearl in the clearcoat which brightens it up a touch. Can look so many different colours depending on light.

And like the others have said your choice of wheels

The colour and wheels look great .What really sets it off for me though is the vinyl roof.
