apparently it has always been the case that the imported car should be stock, but they are now enforcing it?

there is 21 pages on Ozrodders!!

the rods re being rejected with the 2007 build date giving the car a 2007 title even though it is a 1932 ford replica.

But there is a guy on there with a 34 ford all steel car with an original 1934 title and they are still rejecting it as it was 'rebuilt' at a later date.

I heard there a few cars on the freo wharf that have been rejected?

Question.
Is this a result of the flood of imports from the U.S. due to the strong Aussie dollar?
Is this a strategy to slow up imports?

The way things are going i wouldn't be suprised if they prohibt import of muscle cars due to their pollution.

My Camaro is 73 so does that mean i can only have 350 in it?

What about the guys like Agro who imported one with the big block?

Interesting.

Another question pops into my mind. What about race cars? Can we bring in unregisterable race cars?

Nah deadset... I wish I could find the article from the Daily telegraph!

I couldn't believe the rubbish I was reading... "strike force taipan" says that the reason the pod filters are illegal is because they become soaked in fuel and can catch fire ...... I'm sorry but if the air filter on your EFI car is getting soaked in fuel then you have bigger problems than the pod filter its self!

It's not a good time to be a car enthusiast!

It is this sort of quote from the DOTARS website (http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roa...989scheme.aspx) that gets me:

Similarly, an original vehicle may be customised (eg, by unique paintwork) if kept within original specifications

So it can be customised post 1989 as long as they didn't change it
