Now im not thinking mine is abnormally bad. I am guessing mine is high 30's. And I thought my torana was bad at 22 around the city. Only chewed 11 on the highway though which was awesome.

You might wanna recalculate that.. or maybe add a "0" to your mileage.
What you just said is 150-250 liters per 100.

I'd want several thousand horsepower at WOT for that kind of fuel consumption!
I know of stationary engines that get better mpg.

The best tool to tune a tough motor is a wideband air/fuel ratio meter. You can get your cruise ratio just right and not go broke from the fuel bill.

I have a Innovate LC1 and I found it invaluable!

Buick 350 CI with 650 cfm carb was good - 24 lites per hundred on the highway at 100kph 34 litres around town. Same Engine with twin turbos at 8 psi boost. Tank gone in under an hour around town... Plenty of SMILES per gallon though.

Plenty of SMILES per gallon though. I think the 502 GM engine I'm putting in will be cheaper to run than the twin turbo 5.7 litre.

406 Ponti with the quadrajet gets me 28L/100 around town.
But I fell better now after reading some worse figures.

My '66 Chrysler 300 weighs 2140kg's with stuff in the boot and me me in it,it has 3.23 gears,28" tyres, healthy 440 six pack and i get an average 13ish MPG or 21.85K's/100litres. I'm driving to Chryslers on the Murray next month from Bundy,so that'll be interesting with long highway runs to what the milage is then?

There is one of these servos in Blacktown on Flushcombe Rd but I am yet to try it as I havnt driven my car for a while.

Also my 56 sedan 454 4000 stall Turbo 400 4.88 gears not sure but it doesnt last long. 100kmh around 4000rpm
My Sedan Delivery 396 turbo 400 3.0 gears much better but still dont know and I dont really care.
If I did care I wouldnt have built them.

It's not about caring about your fuel economy, it's knowing the range of your car.
A nice sunny cruise on the open highway might also turn in to a really long walk.
