Not just yet Justin. I'm busily getting all of the other bits ready to just go on the reassembly once the paint is on. I think it is still a bit far away yet for me to be getting too excited.

Thanks Lyndsay. I love the colour also. I struggled for ages on choosing the colour, but once I did that, I was happy with my choice and can't wait to see it on the car.

Update

Well, the car is still stuck in paint jail at the moment but progress is being made this week. The shop has employed a new spray painter and he is pretty pedantic which is good. He's sprayed and finished a couple of cars already and his work is really, really good. He has rubbed my car back and wants to apply another coat of high build before paint. OK, I'm not going to argue.

Anyway, I finally got the coupler for the steering column in. You guys might remember I had the oval shaped hole filled as it was UGLY and I had to find a way to finish off the area where the shaft comes through the firewall.

Man, this coupler kicked my but trying to get it in. It wasn't a simple bolt on but after about 10 hours of work, I finally got it in place. It needs a bit more finessing and a bit of a clean and final polish but it's almost there and I think it looks good. Every little bit counts right??

Well, this bodywork thing just seems to go on forever. The attention to detail is good and I really can't complain about the quality of the work, it's fantastic, it's just taking longer than I would like.

Anyway, the car has received its final "bodywork" rub back. It will go into it's final coat of primer today, then they'll leave it for around 10 days before light rub then paint. I know I've said this before, but it's now getting close to paint.

Gaps are good, feature lines are sharp and really straight.

Hey Scott,

Thanks for checking in. The panels have all had 2 coats of high build and I think the body has too. So, this will be the third coat.

Yes Al. It gets its last coat of primer tomorrow, then sits for up to 2 weeks, then paint.

Didn't you put new quarter panels on it? Mabe I'm thinking of someone else.
