Rubber mats cleaning

What brings up rubber matts to look like new. Have scrubbed them with soap and water but still look average.

A good quality tyre gloss, spray on, let sit for a minute or two then wipe off

Armoral and tire shine just coats them in silicone. It's a psuedo clean.

Meguire's make a proper rubber cleaner. I have some and it works well. I'd give that a go.
