Two trailers, one number plate

Since I'm already subsidising the state government with full rego for a 6 and an 8 and one box trailer, I'm reluctant to give them any more.

My plan is to duplicate the VIN plate and chassis number on my registered trailer on the unregistered one. They're both 7x4 box trailers, different manufacturers.

Since I won't be using both at once, I'll just swap the VIN plate and number plate.

Any thoughts?

What's the point if you can only use one?

My thoughts are that you shouldn’t post such plans on a public forum, you never know who is watching. Always say “I’m asking for a friend”.

What he said...

BTW, what's trailer rego worth in QLD? My old trailer (paid $200 for it) is $60 per year (from memory, could be wrong) in NSW. Not worth mucking around to commit fraud.

Just my view...

Not knowing how old the trailers are, but these days the VIN is stamped into the frame as well as being on the ID plate.

Just swap the number plate and don’t bother with the rest, realistically who is going to check? Not that I would ever do such a thing.

First thing I would do, would be to advertise my intentions to commit fraud on the internet, secondly I would ask a Moderator if they could delete my post after I realised how stupid my plan was
