Goodguys Southeastern Nationals

Spent three days at the Goodguys Nationals in Charlotte.

3000/4000 cars, including Camaros everywhere.
Even managed to talk my way into the Autocross(MotorKhana) compound to shoot from inside the fence, heaps of Camaros specially the DSE Cars.
Went to DSE open shop Friday night in Moorsville. 400/500 cars there. What an awesome shop, top notch fabrication.

Went to Hendricks Motorsport complex on Thursday what a setup , 5 large buildings incl a separate Museum & merchandise shop with approx. 25 cars on display inside.
Trophy display cases in the main buildings are unbelievable.
Pics to come

Hendrick has a great setup don't they? It is amazing to see the cars exactly how they left Victory Lane with the confetti and stuff still stuck all over them.

Waltrip and Rousch are worth a look as well.

Went to see a few teams on Monday before I left Charlotte, went to Woods Brothers/TJG racing.
I managed to get a guided tour of the shop as the team knows friends at home.
Went to Roush/Fenway....WOW ! got to get into the tire chaging compound where they practice wheel changes, its a miniature pit lane complete with pit wall etc only used to practice wheel changes.
Went to Pettys next door. very disappointing nothing to see at all one small 20 x 20 shop with some souvineers, couldn't even talk my way to a peek of the shop because mates mate knows Marcus.
Goodguys was a blast. never seen so many neat cars in one place, we even got to do 3 laps of the Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday just on sunset, I shot images out of a guys 50 Olds.
My facebook page has a heap of quick posts.
look for Alan Anderson with a pic of a red 32 ford Coupe .

The folks at JTG are awesome. Jodi (Co-Owner of JTG) even helped carry old sheetmetal out to the truck. We got a personal tour from Marcos and my kids got to sit in his car etc.

Very different to Petty where they do no tours and have jack nothing to offer the fans.

Here are a couple of pics from the other shops.

JTG/Woods Bros were great people.
Pettys not helpful at all.
Got a full tour of the Richard Petty driving school workshop now owned by Petty run by an Aussie.
Pretty neat stuff.
DSE was awesome n very helpful nice people. Charlotte remind r d me of country around Wodonga /Wangaratta.
