Just Something Different

Was doing some changes in garage on weekend and decided to get Slot Cars down.

They raise and lower with an electric winch.

Always good fun.

How very very very cool Craig! I have a set of Scalectrix in a box last used about 30 years ago and would love to build something like that for my boy when he gets old enough! Maybe I should start now for myself.

I built it many years back, have not had it down since end of 2009 when i got my Vette.

But I can say my 3 kids got a lot of fun out of it over the years (and me). Also great when you have friend over for a bit of fun.

To be truthful it was originally for me to deliver on something I had always dreamed of as a kid when you had the Scalextric catalog showing great circuits and accessories and all you had was the small figure 8 and 2 cars.

These things always get out of hand so I tracked down old buildings and cars from the 60s and 70s etc to complete the dream.

Awesome flashbacks of my AFX kit as a kid (with The Fall Guy GMC truck as my fave ) but NOTHING like that stunning setup! Gave more flashbacks to the skit car city at Rye where I spent every summer camping. Stoked to see these still live... and how!! Congrats & enjoy

Me too…. flash back to my AFX kit all over my bedroom floor. And the cars? I didn't know what they were when I first got the kit but can't believe they are 2 of my all time favourites now. 1971 Camaro with blade spoilers and a 1971 Roadrunner GTX.

Amazing scalectric track and even more amazing scenery. Love it! Thanx for sharing and for bringing back memories.
