Serious about those being plugs you pulled out of your own engine..
These plugs have lasted me a good while and if/when I clean them up, they may actually go back in. The reason I expect to chuck them though is because I saw some erosion on the ground straps. They are a little fouled, but nothing a wire wheel won't fix. ...or a good while at WOT. ![]() I buy Autolites when I do a Summit order. They're reasonably cheap. ![]() https://www.summitracing.com/int/par...3935/overview/ Last edited by BlackoutSteve; 19-04-2017 at 07:12 PM.. |

What is the part number of your autolites Steve the reason i asked is mine were off the shelf having said that yours are probably more exotic than the ones for my baby windsor.

Northing too exotic I don't think.. AR3935 as suggested by AFR.
AR prefix means an Autolite Racing plug.. http://www.autolite.com/media/14882/...ing_manual.pdf |

It was advised that I check the intake manifold-to-head fitment. Hopefully no taper from milling or production tolerances that could cause any oil leaking into the ports from lack of gasket compression,.
With a used compressed thickness gasket of .060", I used .090" solder wire I had laying around.. ![]() I punched a 1/4" hole above and below, in between all 4 pairs of intake ports.. ![]() ..and added a piece of the .090" solder, held in place with Scotch tape. ![]() Then laid the gaskets in place, dropped the manifold down and torqued to spec in the factory sequencing order.. ![]() This one measures .065".. ![]() Wow! Not bad.. A variation of no more than .005" between top & bottom of any pair. ![]() The GM gaskets I use are .075" thick and the embossing around the intake and water ports are raised ~.030" equaling .100" in those areas. This will easily absorb the small variation I have between heads & intake. ![]() |

I called and checked stock. 3 sets. So, I bought a set (just one ![]() Still a few weeks away. ![]() In the mean time, I pulled the front springs and had them reset about an inch higher for an almost 2" higher ride height. It was sitting too low for my liking. ![]() Now they're back in with loads of stored energy and just waiting to help transfer it back to the rear when I mash the pedal. ![]() ![]() Hmmm Tall and springy! ![]() ![]() Note for self.. Actual 18-1/4"L & 18-3/8" R Last edited by BlackoutSteve; 03-05-2017 at 06:19 PM.. |
