I was thinking the same thing just yesterday.
I'm having a garage sale next weekend, and then, I can begin stripping out my suspension and brakes in readiness for my new bits which should be getting close to arriving in port.

Sorry no updates, been flat out at work but in 2 weeks time will be getting it down off the stands, outside for a good wash and then backin the shed for a fit up of a front end roller set up so I can take the wheels and suspension off and still move it around the shed. Plans are to rip out the shock towers and replace(new ones sitting in the shed) and clean up the engine bay.
I'll be back in a couple weeks Baz so shout if you need a hand. |

Nah, I just entered the Roadrunner, the stang has too much to do for this event. I wonder if they'll make me take the hubcaps off?

Its good to hear people like the VHX gauges.
Been plodding along last weekend and after work trying to get the car to a point of changing out the shock towers. Built a zimmer frame for the front end so I could take the suspension off and clean up the front. ![]() ![]() ![]() Once I have some more pics downloaded I'll have the suspension and steering out. ---------- Post added at 08:52 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:39 PM ---------- Tonights effort to get it down to a shell ![]() ![]() ![]() and looking a bit sad all naked and all. ![]() Was happy when I started to take some of the undercoat off that it was virgin paint and metal underneath. So far so good ![]() |

Hi Denton.
Nice work. I notice it looks like your car doesn't have the shock tower outer reinforcement. Mine didn't either, so I bought them. These : ![]() Should stiffen up the towers a bit.

Hi Frank, I removed them along with the fenders awhile ago. I did buy a shock tower reinforcement set of plates that g around the base of the new towers and tie into the top of the frame frame. There'll be lots of welding going on at some point.

OK cool Denton. Yeah I know the ones. That will stiffen the towers up heaps ! They need it there.

They look pretty solid ... what's the plan ? New K-Frame or notched towers ?
