Got the left hand header modified as the one that came with the XR8 nearly fitted,...but wouldnt clear the steering shaft .
It needed a bit if massaging the the two rear pipes . When we actually got the pipes in n the rear 2 pipes cut it became obvious that the pipes needed more than a slight massage,....my mate the fabricator decided to cut the collector off n relocate it slightly , then run the back two pipes n get them tacked in place, after that he cut a bit moe put of the front pipes n then added new pieces n got them all tacked up,... we refitted them n everything looked very good , then he bolted them down to a head on the bench n tig welded them all back together Now thats done tomorrow she goes fr a quick trip to the upholsterer to measure n check for a headliing n upholstery on the back of the cab behind the seats. Then its off to the panel shop where the front sheetmetal is being repaired so the mounting bolts all are able to reach the speednuts n mount properly. Then a quick drop in on the way home to redo the two brake lines on the diff as we made them too wide n theyll foul the bump rubbers on full bounce. shortening each by an inch will work n allow clearance,.. Then its off home to start fitting the rest of the front sheetmetal n bits moving towards final assembly .

I love the patina'd outside-glossy inside look.
Had a mate in our club with a half built bare metalled A model with magnificent gloss colour on all the running gear & interior, looked F@#K'n awesome. |
