Mustang rebuild
Ok, first day of engine swap done. Installing a new engine I built about a year ago. Been waiting till the roadrunner was on the road but can't wait any longer. Justin is putting the pressure on for ApocaLaps 1.1 in Oct.
The plan is: Old Engine out, old trans out. Clean up engine bay, RHD conversion done years ago and so a few things need fixing up, brake lines wiring etc. Strengthen shock towers Paint Swap out steering box for XF power steering and get rid of the power ram leaks and hoses. Subframe connectors in Fit extractors, hopefully XY Falcon will be close enough to start with, 1 3/4" primaries 4 into 1. New engine and convertor in(3500 stall) thinking about new C4 Coans Transmission, we'll see. I'll try adding pics everyday I work on it and document as I go. Heres tonights effort. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Good start Denton, have you thought about a manual box? as if you are interested in track days, the manual will be better suited.

No messing around here huh! - but glad to be of inspiration (competition
![]() I'm not badge-ist - i'll race anything ![]() So what are the details on the new donk? (just checking your hp in case i need to fill my scuba tanks in the back - haha ![]() You've got an extra few weeks as Apocalaps v1.1 looks to be either Nov 2 or Nov 9 - at this stage, to avoid major events/cruises around that time (will drop an EOI on the forum soon)

Between 1.3 - 1.5hp per cube [for a well built donk]....510-590hp. Hope it all goes well for you. |

Heres tonights progress,Day 2 all done and dusted. It was a bit blustery outside but nice and cosy in the shed.
I had all the front end wiring tucked away and hidden, price to pay when you want to get to it. Was woven through the fender and it was one of those moments when you take the last bolt out and start to lift and go "oh S*&t forgot that! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

This looks like a great build. I agree with other comments about horsepower, I think at 450 you are underestimating the potential by a wide margin.

Hi Frank, No they are Street or Track. There is a distributor here in Perth. I like them especially the front bar. Its adjustable and clevises so easy to get out and work on the distributor.
Maybe I missed on the HP, Justin if your there, its more like 275HP ![]() |
