Just curious, are they able to pay Shannon's in cash and not go through their insurance company and keep their NCB?

Just in case they don't come through with the cash or take forever to pay it.

Shannon's pays the workshop to fix your car, you sit back and let Shannon's chase them for the cash for however long it takes.

I feel your pain, Shannon's are a pain in the you know what! when I made a claim on my household policy for damage that was done they didn't want to pay and tried every excuse to try and get out of it even going as far as to try and say the person whom did the damage was a guest and therefore damage caused was not covered. This was despite the fact that we called the cops and the person involved was arrested, charged and convicted for doing the damage. It took me over six months of constant argument with them to get them to pay out.
they are like any other insurance company bend over backwards to get your money ,but when you try and make a claim its the one finger salute.

You must be calling at peak each time..
Avoid ~9am, lunch times and ~5pm.
I have never had those kind of waiting times and always had an Aussie who's local..

Anyway, I hope it's being sorted for you.

Hey mate,

I'm an independent Loss assessor and worked with all the large insurance companies until I seen the light and now work for myself and help people like you in exactly similar situations as you find yourself in now and worse...

if you want to contact me mate I'm more than happy to see what I can do for you

Regards

Dan

I've certainly been in the situation where paying a $1000 excess and loosing you no-claim bonus on top of that made it economically viable to just pay for the other person's $1.6K repairs. Helps if you can write the cost off as a business expense too.

PS: No damage to my car, my 300C was tougher than the Toyota Yaris.

It's all good mate, thanks for the offer, I've sent the quote and images in, just waiting for the red pen to come out and get authorised.
