Broad question. You can get screwed by scammers on any website. Pay some one to inspect the car before you buy. If seller won't accommodate. Walk away. Also plenty of phone calls with seller helps. No rocket science here. If it's too good to be true it probably is

Good ones are actually getting harder to get, much harder. A better question would be which inspectors are trusted, some are better than others. Always get your car inspected before purchase.

I went with Shermatt, they're in Florida and have helped many find and import their Mustangs.

Have you tried looking in Aus.? Many were imported during the mining boom and low USD and people are now selling due to our poorer economy, job losses, etc.

I never thought of paying someone to inspect the car first brilliant idea, and keeping in touch with the seller is a standard.. doing a bit of research on the seller will always be a bonus if there is any

I used Shermatt as well for our Chevy pickup.
It is better to have someone who can check out the car you are interested in (IMHO).
Matt checked out a few for me that looked god in the advertisement but weren't that good when inspected.

I'd say the quality here is better, there's a lot of crap in the USA and most people won't import junkers ... unless they got stung. Some do import projects but they fix them up and usually top notch.

I guess all that humidity and salt water up north is having an effect on the ones you've seen, lol. The ones I've seen in Sydney are pretty good but I do go to a lot of car meets and it's usually the guys that like showing off how good their cars are.
