Well you see, it has had a bit of a weep from the water pump for a few months. I have been ignoring it, topping it up, thinking I will do something about it over winter, after all it just a little weep. Took it for a drive the other weekend, got into it a lot, it was going well, enjoying the new efi. When I got home I parked it up and after a couple of hours thought 'I haven't checked the coolant level in a while'. I also remembered that the last time I drove it the weep had turned into a bit of a stream. Not sure how I forgot about this. Popped the radiator cap & could see no coolant. Topped it up, it took 7 litres!! Sheeet! Checked the oil, milkshake. Damn. Had to start it to move it & it started & idled normally. I reckon I have blown an inlet manifold gasket as there is no oil in the coolant. Damn thing was oil cooled for quite some time.

Anyway its all coming out & the birthday I have been threatening it with is now going to happen.

On the up side the efi is doing its job. The plugs were as clean as I have ever seen them.

Glad the EFI was a success..... it's unfortunate that every silver lining has a dark cloud.

I know you will make it bigger and better .

Niice.
Not be negative but what is the weak link? A lot more shock on the drive train with aggressive manual trans use.

Just the tyres. I'll be taking it easy. No sidestepping.

Biggest issue is I haven't driven a manual for about 6 years.

Braided line change

Changed over rubber braided line to Teflon after some rubber fragment went thru to the carby. Expensive exercise as the Speedflow fittings are different for Teflon. Also fitted AN filters before the Holley.
Got about 9 years out of the old but should have gone with Teflon in the first place. Funny never had any problems when using Av gas in race cars in the past, so must be something in the 98 road fuel ?

Iíve noticed some 98ís are plain nasty. Spill some of them
On my shed floor and it chews straight into the sealed paint. Other chemicals donít seem to bother it.

You've got a 57 now? When did that happen?

---------- Post added at 06:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:33 PM ----------

I actually got the Camaro out for a spin in the hills on Sunday.
First drive for about a month
You've just gotta make the time .

And a 308 HQ sedan I just finished . I bought the Belair around two weeks ago. Was at a customers who said they needed money and might have to sell
The Chev. My ears pricked up. Here was this 57 Belair coupe in a carport with an inch of dust on it. Mine,Mine,Mine I thought . Itís pretty nice actually, Iíll try and work out how to resize some Photos.
