Track day at SMSP

I did a track day at Sydney motor sport park (Eastern creek) on Monday. Was awesome... has anyone else taken their beast out there for a bash?
If not I highly recommend it - just rock up and go hell for leather!
I couldn't believe it!
Organised through the formula company
http://www.theformulacompany.com/
they did a great job, everyone was respectful and drove hard but safe.

here is a video of one of my laps:

I am keen to do this again so if anyone is interested to join, let me know.

Awesome! Great to see someone else taking some corners

Becomes very addictive, next minute suspension and brake upgrades etc - haha
But an awesome rush - especially if you're overtaking late model cars

We're holding an event at Barbagallo Raceway in September - already seems too far away

Thanks Justin. Not sure why this section is not more popular or why it doesn't show up in the main forum posts
Car went brilliantly... Turned, stopped, stayed cool, went hard... Very happy. Shredded my BF Goodrich street tyres though.
What tyres do you use for track?
Thinking of getting a cheap set of rims and throw slicks on em.
What you reckon?

Best tyres so far - Nitto NT01 - awesome grip, quick hookup again after traction losses (although not as many as you'd think even with a grumpy BBC) - only negative was short tyre life, hates water

Current tyres - Kumho KU36 - great compromise, still soft enough for the track and good confidence when wet , do lose traction that lil bit sooner, need to feather power on - although I reckon they'd be miles ahead of the BF's quite cheap via international tyre trader ( hard to find cheap 315's)

Also considering a set of full track slicks one day, just to see how far she can go - that's after some bigger brakes, 6 Spd, injection etc etc

Great feedback thanks I will definitely look at the Kumho's. What do you think about getting some dedicated wheels for track as opposed to using my Billet 18's?
What suspensions upgrades do you recommend? Currently have standard control arms and hotchkis 2" lowered springs on the front + Hotchkis 2" lowered multi leafs out back with Calvert Caltracs...

If your budget allows get some dedicated track wheels
I haven't freed up that budget yet but is on the to-do list

Definitely run some aftermarket tubular arms up front, they allow for a lot more tyre, adjustment and feedback, from there you can then check out some rear options - from basic to awesome

But I'd focus up front first - many quality brands now, Detroit Speed / Speedtech Performance - I'm going away from my Heidts front end (not really cutting it with poly bush inserts) and fitting some new Speedtech arms soon (If you're interested in Speedtech let me know as I've become an Aussie distributor for them https://m.facebook.com/AWOLProTouring2016/ )

Check the Autocross sites from the states and see what they're running - it's ultra competitive over there, mind you even our local events are getting a lot of red mist too

I love the smell of fat tuned engines in the morning

International tyre trader - prices were on avg $100 cheaper per 315/30/18 at the time
