I went with ****. inexpensive but works using your smart phone over GSM, So you can requests your cars status, disarm/arm, remote shut down, location from anywhere in the world. didn't realise but it does have a back up battery as it alerts my phone as soon as the car battery is disconnected.
has all the other usual features, as well as some optional ad ons like remote start.
Oh, best of all, no service fee for the tracking, uses gps coordinates and/or google maps.
obviously have to pay for a sim card though.
