Loooooong overdue update!

Progress has been slow due to: taking 2 months off to trip around the USA, starting a new job that's 9-5 and not FIFO, buying a new toy that needed work and being poor after the 2 month holiday.

Pretty intent on getting it stripped completely over the next 2-3 months

New toy, 89 suburban V2500. 350 on straight gas, t400, 4x4, RHD conversion and a sh!t-tonne of room inside... not to mention a very interesting paint job.
It should be very helpful in moving car parts about in future.

Progress on the Camaro. Have removed:
  • exhaust
  • cut the subframe connectors
  • Vinyl roof
  • Wiring
  • Steering column
  • everything in the dash (heater box and ducting was a b!tch)
  • Brakes

Worst of the rust under the vinyl. It looks pretty repairable

The dash was was a pain to pull everything out of, but firewall is now bare

Engine and trans is disconnected from the body, just need to drop the subframe bolts

Next steps:
  • Remove front seats, headliner, carpet and rear seats
  • remove glass
  • remove rear diff and fuel tank
  • Lift body off the subframe and put the engine on a stand

hopefully have the body blasted in the next few months and I'll have a full understanding of required rust repairs

...and yes Denton, I have started decorating the house with the panels
