I thought this was the case, so I had a quick look at the Summit web site. They show the same part no. for Nova and first gen Camaro. I would think you could get first gen shocks in Australia.

Either the can is broken, or there's a crack in the vacuum line. The cans do go bad. Keep in mind how much work the canister does over the years. The diaphragm will fail eventually.

Everything came apart and went back together relatively painlessly.
