Depending on car they only kick down under a certain speed. Its not like newer transmissions. Mine only kicks down under 35MPH IIRC....Its been a while since I researched it..

Sloppy Steering - 64 Belair RHD

Hi All,

I have an AUSSIE delivered RHD 64 Belair.

The steering has LOTS of play in it. All joints under the car are good, rag joint is good etc.

The only thing I can see is the steering box...

The cap was off and water was steaming, it must have been open surely. I dont think its air flow, as at idle it held a kmart catalogue against radiator easily.....Yes, Celsius, we are in Australia :-)

I took the 64 belair out yesterday and while cruising the aftermarket temp gauge sat around 85-90. When it sat for a small time the gauge crept up to as much as 110-120f which is waaaaaay...
