Very nice car! what engine/box combo did you end up going with?

Ranga350 02-12-2012 05:54 PM

The Nova was all set for an LS1 stroker (392ci with duel-quad EFI) but buying the Rod has dashed all those plans. I will probably still end up doing a 383 stroker on the sbc. Its already got the Turbo 700, you can see all the new suspension and chassis gear still to be fitted including 4-bar coil over rear end 9" with Moser axles and 4:11's. The '32 has a Mexican 302 with a good cam, 5spd Tremec and Jag rear end.

Nice, wouldn't mind a few more pix of the rod. :)

I am in love, that is one exceptional rod, you don't want a blown 67 Camaro :)

Welcome to he forum

BigONova 03-12-2012 03:14 PM

nice car man, the flames look wicked, not overdone but you still notice them

Ranga350 03-12-2012 08:50 PM

Sadly i cant take the credit for the awesome work.
The car was professionally built by Mick Patty in 2007, (im pretty sure it was painted by John Carroll and engine by Dandy Engines - All well revered in the industry)....I'm just lucky enough to own it !!

But thanks all the same, it is cool, i love it.
(And no thanks for the Camaro)

Dear lord...that is...awesome

Taking it in for safety inspection & road'y on Saturday, hope to get club reg soon and go cruising for Xmas. Then the Nova can come off the road for the chassis upgrade.

The '32 looks tough mate. Bet it will turn some heads cruising!

Yep, i've already had a couple of d#@kheads cut me off while having a gawk. Not fussed if they look....just stay in your own lane!!

Seems to be a common thing with modified cars and people forgetting all sense of safe driving when they see them.

The Ranga has to wait a little longer before i get started on the chassis work.
I've already chopped up the Rod, cut the back wall and modified it to give me a few extra inches of leg room. As soon as this is welded back in i can re-trim it and start on the Nova???

Hopefully soon this thread will cover the Nova rebuild as it was intended....sorry

Gee mate you wasted no time in cutting up a complete and show worthy rod. Keen to see some more progress pics on it, even if you need to start its own thread :)
