Just found this forum and looks interesting. I have a 1969 red Camaro coupe. Currently fitted with a 327, 4 speed muncie and posi rearend.
Car arrives this week in Melb. Plan to keep left hand drive and do a restoration over a period of time.

Thanks EAT-30T, Do you know of anyone fitting a ZZ502 engine to a 69 ? I wonder if the sump will fit and if the SB engine mounts are the same. Also where can I get extractors to fit
I thought about a ZZ572 but appears there are issues with the Dizzy, sump and the brake booster interfering. Besides 502HP is plenty:eek:

Welcome :)
I'd assume fitting the 502 into a 69 would be similar to trying it in a 67/68...
As Kurt said i've been considering it as alternative to a 427/454 conversion... guy's at team camaros forum have been a great help..
I posted up the info i could grab HERE (http://www.usmuscle.com.au/Forum/showthread.php?t=79), should be relevant for a 69 aswell...
I do envy you though.. you are leaving it LHD.. will be a bit easier for you to get it set-up :p
as for pipes.. i'd get some custom ones made.. will only cost a few hundred more than off the shelf ones.. although because your leaving LHD you should be order some of the net.. or speak to Pete from Mustang&Camaro's in lylidale... if you don't have his contact details let me know...

Seriously how much for the vette? And is it in VIC ?
First V8 I ever drove was a 69 vette with a 427...that's what got me hooked on big blocks, fav vette is 62...but love 67's and 69's also
And that Nova is killer....the Camaro was going to be pro-street just too hard to get registered, so now it will be half way between pro-street and pro-touring

Have to start somewhere :p if it weren't for the cheap aussie cars we wouldn't be able to do what we can today ;)
And Jim, both very nice.. do you take the Nova out to any cruises/
shows?
And i'm sure you wouldn't have much trouble selling the vette.. they seem to be going like hot-cakes lately...

SirGeo, I had an uncle down last week and we took the Nova out for a quick squirt to Di Filippo's exhaust centre in Melton. Left home at 9am and got back at 7pm :D
Took the Nova to Hanging Rock and will be taking it to The all American day at Flemington on the 1 April.
The Vette was recently advertised for 80k but it's to cheap at that, and in future will be advertised for 115k.
Cluxford, yeah Vic mate...Sunbury.
