That is funny. Hope you dont go and break anything though!
Deano do you have a link to a post about how you fitted your harness or have some pics you can put up of how you attached it at the back?

Yep if I break something you can have it back for sure!! :D
In your "pox pic of yours now", did you drill a new hole for those or use an existing one?

Just used the existing rear seatbelt threaded hole. Is a bit off-centre but does the job for the drags. Would be annoying for everyday though...

Excellent. Thanks for that (and the links) and good luck on the 12th.

I'm in!!! Again!!!

Promised myself I'd give it another go having missed out on a run last time, breakage was only a heater core outlet rubber stopper on the manifold thank goodness.. :o

Did a great burnout but no run!

Gonna make sure I take some spare radiator hoses etc this time as they seem to be the weakest link under these pressures....

Cheers

Bit of a disappointing arvo. Got there later which was a plus as small lines & easy scruitineering. But did not get a better time over past, even with new ignition, 830 annular carb (was 750vacsec) and new fuel pump/regulator.

Had a variety of issues meaning that I didn't get a single run that was ultra clean.
- My Dunlop \DRs (18psi) wouldn't smoke in burnout & would slip every launch, then grip & shake the whole car.
- One run had a massive 'ta-tink-ta-tink' sound when revved high (valve bounce?)
- Felt like my T350 (on the way out) was slipping at time (no even sure if possible on auto)
- In 2nd half was fuelling like a pig, stalled on the line twice and needed to slip/stall the converter to get off the line at all
- In final two runs it seemed to just run out of puff 3/4 track and stop pulling at all.

All these added up to some random results, none bettering my prev PB of 13.6. This is seen in my best 3 of the 7 runs:

.......... 60ft - 1/8th - 1/4 - MPH
RUN 2: 1.95 - 8.75 - 13.67 - 102.17 (Fastest MPH)
RUN 4: 1.90 - 8.63 - 13.71 - 96.96 (Best 60ft)
RUN 6: 1.98 - 8.65 - 13.65 - 94.16 (Best 1/4, but slowest MPH)

I was very low on fuel toward the end, so may have been trouble getting it forward, but jsut kinda flattened offmassively, not sputtering etc. I have no return line for what is worth.

Not sure what to do next. Not a fan of these tyres for starters I don't think. And with debris found in the auto's pan a year ago, with lots of thrashing since, could be time to replace. An of course, a dyno tune of the carb wouldn't go astray.

Anyhoo, my camera battery died early on, but managed to get some shot of the candy red Chevelle that stole my heart. I love these things big time, and this was a stunner (if only had better shots). Didn't see it time, but hauled!

Oh, some blackberry pix of mounting the harness in the factory parcel shelf holes as promised. Is more meat holding them than the angle looks..

Well done Deano for getting back on horse after it kicked you off. There are alot of variables in setting up a car for drag racing and it is not as easy as it seems.

i am not fan off the Dunlop drag radials, but the mickey ET drag radials have been faultless for me, getting perfect take off with minimal lose of traction. one trick i have learnt is keeping the fuel tank at least half full, so it sucks fuel and not air......

Yes well done deano a bit of a bummer with the exrea mod's, but no improvement in your ET..

Try a set of et street i think you will see the difference in your times.

cheers mark.

Nice Deano. Considering the issues you had you have very consistent times. The Candy Chevelle does look nice.

I'm running my et streets at 16psi deano. With just a bit of warming they hook up my power perfectly. It is very possible your auto is slipping, smell the oil and if it's burnt that'll be costing you time. The running out of puff may be very well due to you not having enough fuel to overcome the fuel moving away from the tank outlet under power. This tapping you heard, did you get a look at the oil pressure on the run? You will only get valve bounce if you rev it pretty hard(depending on your valve springs of course).
