Well we are finally open.. Sorry to everyone who messaged or emailed us for taking so long to open up, but we wanted to get the site as bug free as possible..
I'd also like to say a big thanks to Gavin from www.netforge.com.au (http://www.netforge.com.au) for all his help getting this site up and running.
What is the Point of this site you ask?
Well searching through the internet there are no real "Information/Discussion Forums" or "Trading sites" (for sale/wanted Forums) specific for old American cars. Being involved with and running another of Australia's largest online forums/community I felt that this was something that the muscle car (and hotrod) communities were lacking.
More importantly a free, clean and well organised ForSale/Wanted area was needed, to help people find what they needed, and sell what they didn't.
Hopefully this becomes a place where enthusiast can come trade wares, swap stories and information on the build up of your cars. I've already added my own headache/money pit on the forum, so have a read, tell me if I'm doing anything wrong, and show us what you are doing.
If you think of anything that might help with the site please let Mozz or myself know and we will try get it going.
Regards,
Steve

Hey Everyone,
Just stumbled upon this site day before yesterday and thought I would say hi.
Been reading over the forum, and I have to say a few nice cars seem to be in the build.
But you all need more Fords in the mix :)
Currently I don't have a muscle car, but intend to buy one soon, I know everyone is expecting it, but I've been eyeing a particular mustang for a while now and it has finally come up for sale.
If and when I get it I'll make sure I post some pictures.
In the meantime I'll try enjoy the chevs on this site :p.

I just stumbled across you guys last night and wanted to say hi.
Been playing around with American cars now for 25 years (mainly 60s GM)
I look forward to helping out any way I can.
And as a member of a couple of US sites, it will be nice talking to Aussies for a change.
It's also great to see an Australian site not dedicated to one brand or body.
I couldn't find where to put my name ?

Hey fellas,
i have a complete 350 chev eng is there anyway i can trace what car it originally came out of from the serial number. 15b569520.castingnu 3970010
and these are sum add cast numbers KO5 29 CMJ .can anyone help.
JUSTDREAMIN
SirGeo
10-10-2007, 12:16 PM
Don't know how accurate it all is, but here's what I get from that info.
Your Serial Number 15b569520
(info taken from: http://www.chevy-camaro.com/chevy-camaro-engine-suffix-code-help.asp )
1 =Chevy
5 = 1975
b = Vehicle assembly plant Baltimore, Maryland
569520 = ast six digits of VIN
Casting Number 3970010 could be 3 options:
According to this page: http://www.chevy-camaro.com/chevy-camaro-chevy-engine-block-codes.asp?group=1
-YEAR----CID----HP---MAIN--COMMENT
-1969----350--255/350--4--Truck/Passenger/Chevelle/Chevy II/Corvette/Camaro
-YEAR----CID---HP---MAIN--COMMENT
-1969----302---290----4----Z-28 Camaro
-YEAR-----CID-----HP----MAIN--COMMENT
-1970/80--350--145/350--2/4---Truck/Passenger/Chevelle/Chevy II/Corvette/Camaro
Suffix Code KO5 29 CMJ
From: http://www.chevy-camaro.com/faq/chevy-camaro-faq-engine-decoding.shtm
K= Engine Assembly Plant McKinnon Engine Plant
05 = Assembly Month MAY
29 Assembly Day 29th
C = Motor Division – Chevrolet Passenger car
MJ = only on 350 BLOCK
*CMJ
--YR--CID---HP--BBL-APPL
1975--350--145--4---THM 350/400, federal
1974--350--160--4---t400 police
So with all this info you'd assume it is an original 350 4 bolt Block, built in 75 from an ex-Federal Car. But that just my conclusion :p

Top site guys, thank god there is somewhere to go to get US muscle info. I'm looking forward to getting a 68 camaro project and doing conversion myself. I know a lot of people tell me to keep it LHD but I want it right hook. I'm wondering what s/box they use (i've been told both early holden and ford) and can of any standard parts be used in the conversion?
SirGeo
15-10-2007, 11:04 PM
Welcome :)
For my conversion they used a Ford steering box (XY).. I know there are kits available using GM box's from aussie cars.. but i wouldn't have a clue...
Planning on doing the conversion yourself? or do you have someone in mind to do it for you?

hi all,
new to the thread, and new to muscle cars. ill be honest i know squat about cars, but would love to get my hands some muscle at some stage in the not to distant future.
while im here i might as well ask, are there any cars that are reliable, not too expensive and can be driven as an everyday car.
all the best
SirGeo
05-01-2008, 03:44 PM
Welcome aboard :)
Reliability (for an every day car) depends on how you build and drive it.. same goes for expense.. depends on what you want..
If you don't go to far out there with your build it should be fine (apart from petrol costs :p)..
Do you have a car in mind?
Hi all,
Finally an Aussie forum for our cars! Stumbled across this forum while looking at youtube. (following link after link after link)
Once I get use to this forum, I'll post a pic of my 69RS and I'll be happy to chat about it and I also need help with a few details.

Hello everybody from the USA!
I found this site while looking up some date codes on some parts I have.
Really great site, you guys have an awesome attitude about the cars!
I have a couple of '64 Chevys; an Impala, and a Bel-Air wagon that
I customized into a 2-door. Its not done yet, oh well.
My father always had Mopar, still does. In fact tomorrow we are picking
up a 1987 Fifth Avenue (he has 4 others already), he and mom use them
for daily drivers. When I was young, he had a '52 New Yorker with the
hemi in it, but sold it when they moved 6 years ago. I have a '73 Dodge
3/4 ton Club cab pickup that I use for hauling home new projects, but
I have a 292 Chevy 6 w/ 3 speed overdrive in it.
My father and I are fixing up a 1947 Kenworth conventional. We
stretched the frame (252" wheel base), and added a newer (1978) Peterbilt
Air-ride suspension. It will have a 48" walk-in sleeper when its done.
It has a 200 Cummins, 5 speed main, 3 speed auxillary transmission. We
hope to upgrade that to a 4 speed.
If there is anything I can do on this side of the world to help find parts or
even help with shipping, let me know. I will be glad to help anyway that
I can.
Awesome site!

New too the site and to US Muscle cars.............
Been modding cars since 10 years ago when i was 17 but late jappo cars, now have a S6 Rx7, will piss this off to get a rolling 69 Camaro with limited knowledge and Im way out of my league.
My outlook changed when my mate took me to SUMMERNATS, it blew my mind away standing next to these cars which literally made the ground shake and the detail and effort put in these cars were amazing not bolt on stuff im use too but ground up builds and 800hp+ monsters.
will be asking alot of rookie questions, apologise in advance

To echo Sir Geo's welcome (dont forget to check his project build out,,,its something else), welcome aboard CamaroIwant. Am sure you had a great time and enjoyed your earlier time, work, and mods on cars from the orient, but we are glad you have "seeeeeeen the light" and become a believer in true muscle.
Spread the word with your mates that "cubes rule" and "there aint no substitute for cubes". Also dont hesitate to check out sites like camaros.net and camaros.org for almost everything you wanted to know (if you havent found already).
And if you have not seen and felt the ultimate in ground shake yet, head out to WSID and see top fuelers run. 8,000 HP earthquakes....
And dont apologise for asking questions...the only silly question is the one that does not get asked...
Cheers and enjoy.

I cant get my friends away from the Autosalon to the NATS, but there lost.
I'll say it again it was summernats that open my eyes and my ears and the air being pulled out of my lungs from the crazy motors.
Planning on getting a Camaro by the end of the year bit scared as im not as skilled as you guys were i can change panels and chassis and the like, sure i can bolt exhaust systems and intercoolers but what you guys are doing im really scared, Thinking of just getting a working item running and body work done. Then ill take it from their.
Hi great site good to see something local
would love to hear from any other trans am owners who can offer advise for my project

Hello! :) Just another Camaro owner here..
I have a '69 plain Jane that is on the better side of a rotisserie restoration.
I've had the car since '92, so I know the it really well and how bad the original steering conversion was.
The restoration was mainly prompted in order to fix the conversion, and one thing led to another, as it usually does.
Originally a 327, Frost Green/Med Green Interior, TH350 with console (and no other options except maybe power steering) it's now a 454-PG-9" with A/C, Tuxedo Black, Black Interior, Power front Discs and Power Windows.
Can't wait to buy a Moser 12 bolt so the 9" can go.

hey all,
im glad to have found this forum.
im in bali atm and have just bought my second american classic,
a '63 Chev Impala pillarless 4-door, built by gmcanada. i think its pretty original and hasn't had too much work done since new, it's running a 230ci turbothrift six.
The six seems great for cruising, economical, only problem is its too quiet.
the plan is to keep her original, the basic work ill do will be done mostly here in bali as its cheaper and a fairly good standard. i'm taking care of a few rust bubbles, red/white respray, some fatter tyres, renew the chrome, dash, reupholster and deck out the interior, then ship to perth.
below should be some photos..
if anyone has any advice or anything i would be more than grateful :)
cheers,
jim

Yeah, go the 1st Gen for sure. Don't worry about a 2nd Gen... I was in the same boat and could have picked up a nicer 2nd Gen but ultimately I really, really wanted a 1st Gen and wouldn't have been happy otherwise.

Hey Downesy
I lived in Vancouver for 6 months or so, great place, if your still around in November, you have to head up to Whistler, depending if there is snow or not, you can get the mountain bikes, quad bikes, skidoos or snowboards out.
Grouse Mountain and Cypress Mountain are really good local ski mountains as well.
Also make sure you head to Granville Island in Vancouver as well and go to the brewery for a feed, good food and good local beer, the Granville Island Brewery Winter Ale should be out soon :D

Hey guys, Hagget here, a brand new member. Nice to get on board with some fellow muscle car freaks.
I'm chasing up a 4speed tranny to go behind a big solid cam 308 or 350 up to about 480/500hp. I'm a big fan of the old A/MS B/MS class of drag sedans particularly the old peter michaels 308 ht sedan from adelaide and the ht monaro of luigi coombes who raced at the old ravenswood raceway in perth my old home town.
I'm keen to build up an early style[technology and appearance] hk sedan with an angry 308 or 350 4 speed to have a bit of fun cruising but mostly to rip down the quarter. Is there anybody who can tell me the best place to locate a toploader, T10 or muncie with all associated clutch and shifter bits and pieces. Its gonna come together in bits and pieces and the gearbox is first cab off the rank![dont ask me why]
Any feedback would be appreciated cheers.

Hey guys,
Just a quickie to say g'day - I got onto this forum via the Amercian 60's Car Club site link page & spent hours last night trawling through it absorbing the wealth of information here!
The reason being? Well I'm in the process of having my life-long dream of owning a tough muscle car come true. Last weekend I went to the Gold Coast (from home in Melb) to put a deposit on a privately-owned '67 blood-orange Camaro with mild 454 (not currently in the car) which will be assembled & delivered early December.
I'm not building a show car, dragstrip hero or matching-numbers museum piece, just a tough street car that I can tinker with and very gradually improve & personalise (I can't afford any other strategy! :)
I'll create separate posts for the myriad of questions and comments I have, as well a photobucket link & specs of my new toy, but just wanted to drop a quick howdy-ho and look forward to chatting with you all in the future, and maybe catching up with some other Melbournites at cruises etc.
Cheers!

A friend in Melbourne showed me this site and I have been lurking around for a few days now and decided to join. I am in the US but really enjoy the enthusiasm the membership here has for my favorite cars.
I have owned several "muscle" cars over the years, mostly Fords but there was a '66 Chevelle SS 396 that kept me busy for a while and a Plymouth Superbird that drove me crazy trying to restore.
My passion, however, has always been the Pantera. I still have the first one I ever owned (at seventeen), and have been through a few others for various racing purposes. I don't see much about the Pantera in Australia and a search of this forum yields no results; is it not considered US Muscle down under?
My friend was telling me about the ridiculous exchange rate at the moment, but in a pinch I can be called upon to find and ship elusive parts.
Here is a pic of my baby, fully restored to stone stock condition with the exception of some necessary mechanical upgrades.

Hi John,
The Pantera is certainly a Muscle Car in it's won right, but there are very few examples of them here in Australia. And they are out of the reach of the average Muscle Car enthusiast as they fetch a fair dollar.
Nice car though mate and welcome aboard.

Hey guys,
Just a quickie to say g'day - I got onto this forum via the Amercian 60's Car Club site link page & spent hours last night trawling through it absorbing the wealth of information here!
Cheers!
'RAW' Deano
Bring it on Deano. I'm a fan of a solid Orange Camaro....

I bought the one pictured 31 years ago for a lot less than you would think. Over the years I've had a total of four. One I raced in SCCA B Production for a long time (small block Corvettes for breakfast, anyone?). One I restored as a GTS clone and sold at auction, and one I bought with similar intention but have yet to complete, or start for that matter.
This last one is a basket case, literally most of the parts that will fit are in baskets, so I guess it is started in a way. It is my intention to maintain a stock exterior while bringing all the mechanical aspects into the 21st century with a DOHC Cosworth Ford engine, EFI, ABS, etc...
There is one available here in the states that is almost complete but lacks and engine and transaxle (ZF). The guy wants $10-12K USD for it. The reason I mention this is that the GTS I built had a block and heads (351C aluminum) that I had a hell of a time getting from Australia. If someone there could find a ZF transaxle for a reasonable price and could get this chassis shipped, he could put together a very nice Pantera for a very reasonable price.
Thanks for the welcome, I'm certain I'll enjoy myself here.
Oh, yeah, that Pantera I used to race? She became a victim of the Famous Corkscrew at Laguna Seca. I'm afraid it was terminal. :(
Edit: Oops, forgot to ask; what would you consider a "fair dollar"? This latest project of mine will end up being sold eventually as the original is a jealous mistress.

You can find a few big block Panteras, but they aren't stock. It's a stupid mod for the exact reason you expect; it buggers the handling which is not the best it can be anyway. We all put Australian aluminum blocks and heads in them over here and that helps a ton (hehe).
The car was very well designed, but poorly executed due to target sales pricing. With some work and a few major upgrades they are incredible drivers, but you have to love them for it to be worthwhile.

At the current exchange rate, those aren't too terrible expensive. The last one especially is a decent deal. I've built some other "muscle cars " and have put that much into them. Seriously, how much do you guys have in yours? Now, how much would your wives say you had in them? :p
LOL @ the yellow one being called "stock" with that gawdawful wing on it! And the "GTS" isn't, it's just got the GTS stuff hung on it.

Welcome Dr Grogg.... WOW you even have a snow plow for sale in your store... Doesn't get much better than that ;)
Genuine Yenko, now there is a dream car indeed!!! Would be nice but not a reality for me.
Yea this was the real deal. 1969 Yenko Deuce, found in a back alley in small
southern Ohio town in fall of 1983. I owned it for about a year. The paint was
original the mileage on the body was 33,000. The original motor was long gone
so I built a 427 with 12 1/2:1.00 Pistons (orig came with 11:1) Steel crank
and 69 square port heads. The valves were opened by means of orig GM solid
cam. I found an orig GM BB aluminum intake with a 750cfm dbl pump Holley.
All this was coupled to a Muncie M-21 (orig trans) and 12 Bolt 4:11 4 series
(orig) rear axle. This was one wild ride... a true 11 sec street car.
I have spent 25 plus years since selling, what would now buy 2-2005
Ferrari Super America's, documenting the True History of my old Yenko
Nova. Here is what I can document as Fact, The Nova was one of 2
Rallye Green cars built out of the 37 Sold. One of two with Pwr St & AM radio. Documented in the original Yenko Records as #1 built but not the
first one sold. My Nova was a promo car in which to sell the others. Orig engine was a L72 transplant 427/425hp code CE Warranty Replacement
Eng. Well that ought to be enough to wet every ones appetite.
Again Glad to be aboard.

Hi Nev, Well I discovered one 67-68 Factory AM Radio left with
Bezel/Mounting plate (Chrome and Flat Black, needs a
repaint) and Knobs. Has wiring pig tail attached. Case
is in good condition. Push button selector works smooth
as does manual tuner. Tested and Checked reception
and sound. The factory ID Sticker is missing but I pulled
this out of one of my 67 parts cars some 25+ yrs ago
and it has been kept in dry storage since. I will put pics
up here on Saturday.
These are getting harder to find in decent condition.
As for the cost $69.00 US Plus $37 US to ship. I can
accept payment through Pay-Pal just send your Pay-Pal
e-mail address to dr_grogg@yahoo.com. I will forward
an Invoice for payment. Once payment is received I
will ship within 2 business days.

Hi All,
I am new to this forum, in fact it is the first forum I have joined. I have a couple of cars. My daily driver is a 1964 El Camino that I restored 20 years ago. I had it for 12 years then sold it as my growing family would not fit in a ute. I had the oppotunity to buy it back several years ago so I jumped at the chance. It runs a mild 383 small block and turbo 400 with a 3.7 10 bolt diff. I race it at the nostalgia drags (WSID), it has run a best of 12.8 at 105mph.
My project car is a 1964 Malibu SS. It will also run a 383, but with a powerglide and 3.7 12 bolt. The head, cam combo that I have for it ran 11.1 in a HQ holden, so I am expecting at least low 11's once it is running. It is still a while off, the body is off the chassis and I am just about to start notching the rails to fit some real rubber under the back. I will be using some Moser housing ends to shorten the diff, then I will order axles to suit. Other than that it will appear mosly stock, I even intend to use rally wheels on it. It will have stock interior, I even managed to get some original buckets for it off ebay.
Once I work out how to, I will post some photos of both cars. I am also chasing some 10 bolt diff gears for the El Camino. Some 3.08's or 3.36's or even 2.78's would be good as I am trying to get some more econmy out of it. I love driving it every day, but the fuel bill is hard to swallow some times.
Cheers

G'day guys, love the sight- currently doing a ground up 68 resto and I pulled the roof lining away. Was wondering if anyone has removed the insulation between the roof lining and the tin roof. Its glued on someway and looks like it might be a pain in the arse to replace if I remove it. It all looks in pretty good order up there so not sure if i should just leave it. Will I get condensation there if I dont replace it with some other type of insulation?

Mobche,
I left mine, too hard to rip out, and I had a body shop working on my car and even they didn't want to remove it. My car has been indoors and out with the liner removed and has built up no condensation, so you should be OK.

You will want to replace it. I doubt it was put there for reasons of condensation.. I'm sure it's to deaden the body to make the car quieter. Also, it will be very loud in there when it rains for example.
Go to an upolstry shop. They'll have something.. If not, Dynamat and similar brands make stuff that will do nicely.. That's what I'm doing.
..and welcome to the forum! :D

One of the guys on the Mustang forums just got their car back from getting a new headliner and no insulation was put in... they have to take it back as, in the rain, it is deafening..
If it is in good nick, why remove it?.. unless you feel the roof may have corrosion under near for some reason. Else I agree, you have to replace it with 'something'.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.
I'd leave the original insulation unless it has badly deteriorated in some way.

Ditto on that ^^^ Nev!
It is a very soft fibrous material and needs a lot of work to get off, only to need to be replaced. Unless it is hiding corrosion, best left.
And is reportedly NOT asbestos according to some posts on Camaros.net ! Sigh of relief on that.
Hey everyone,
Been helping a mate sell his impala and one of the mods here saw it and sent me here, unfortunately don't have a muscle car atm, had to sell my impala after the kid was born
hopefully get back into it sometime in the near future when funds allow, would love another impala or a 68 camaro but i'd be happy with anything yank and old school
so check out my old beast in the for sale section and i hope it goes to someone on here so i can keep tabs on my old girl

Hi guys just joined great site
Regards,
Steve

Here are a few photo, I hope! was not sure if i put them here or the black camaro thread?
Some with its pimp wheels on, usually just run it on the ralley wheels as sixties suspention design 20" rims and North Queensland roads don't mix!
Power is a 396 with a bit of work done to it, tricked turbo350 and 3.73 diff.
I would rate it as a good 7/10 car, body is dead stright, paint ok a few stone chips ect, interior appears to be orignal so good for its age. Suspention needs works and some of the under dash wiring is just, well lets say needs improvement.

They should fit, mate runs 15-10's on the back of his firebird with 295's and don't rub. it is more the tyre cost on top of the thousand plus for the two rims holding me back $400 ea for cheppies out of china or $800-900 for anything half decent. Don't like bying cheap tyres as it is all that holds you on the road. Mate owns a tyre shop and it makes him laugh when blokes will come in with cars that they have spent thousands on springs and shocks to make it handled than come and see him and want the cheapest tyres they can bye. then they wonder why it doesn't handle like it should

I buy them from privert sellers in all over the us. I can handle any budget. The shipping from the states to here in Australia will cost a standerd charge of $2999 and thats with all paperwork complete and send to the customer. The depo in the us is in california 32539, so if the car is from outa us state there might be extra fee for delivery to there.Like i said i am working with the importers and will wok with yourself on any budget. Best to give me a call and we can go from there
I have a 1978 chevy camaro rolling shassi on ebay atm just look under my username memz2010 and take a look. I can import you any other cars for way less then any other importer 110% money back garantee.

Hey all, as everyone has said, good to find a local site to all US Cars,ok what can i tell you all about what i have done....ok to do with US cars, i used to own a 1972 US Sprint 351C 4V Q-CODE Mustang...love that car, i bought it over with me when i moved from the UK back in 1997 but sold the car in 1998, i think it was sold to someone in Queensland.....anyway, 5 months ago i bought another US Car, as i wanted something differn't, i had a falcon xr6 for 10 years, but that was written off, so i said that i would get another US car, so i did the Camaro, i wanted a 1986/89 corvette but abit out of my price range at the time, so i got the Camaro, love this car.....it stands out!!!..i will put up some pic's later, good to be on here....

67 and 68 had regular seats. No headrests at all.
69 got adjustable head rests.
70's and maybe 71's had adjustables too. Around 72 not quite sure when, the headrests became integrated. And the seatbacks looked like tombstones then. Or at least thats what everyone calls them. :)

Hi Guys
Recently arrived to Melbourne (3 years here in Australia) form Chile<--------that is in south america if you don't know. Have gone through hell to get my muscle car here in melbourne. ( I thank God almost everyday for allowing me bring my car and my wife) It is a 1970 chevelle. It is basically standard throughout.
I'm married and have a young daughter and another one on the way so it is difficult to save money for my toy. My ultimate dream is getting her on the road again someday.
I have never taken her on the road yet because I live in Dandenong for the moment I'm afraid that it will be stolen. So I just start the engine every now and then in the garage and dream.

I'm putting a photo of my chevelle and a 1947 desoto that is still back home.
All of the work on my Chevelle is done by me so it isn't a show car. And it is pretty much standard.

Of course!:D
I'm still working on the 350 engine. Some of the mayor things I still need to do is:
1) Booster and master cylinder (hopefully a chrome one) At the moment it has one that I took off a mustang.:( I also need to change two brake lines that come from the master cylinder to the porporting valve due that the are made of copper. (copper is permited in Chile).
I need to change bearings to diff due to my 10" rims that almost doesn't have back spacing. I'm not confident in doing the 10 bolt diff myself so searching for a cheap place where I can take my diff.
I will also need new wheels there are a pair of coys on this web site but i think there sold due that i haven't had a response from the seller. ( I still need to pass it through my wife to see if its ok to buy them).
And then small thing like new cable for hand brake and a cable for my speedo, mmm thats about it for now.
It's an ever ending process I guess. Once you finish you start again replacing things with better stuff. Every time I buy or install something I say to myself "this will do for now but when I get my big block, hopefully I'll have more money and I'll fix it with something better".

Welcome... that last shot looks interesting...

Guys I know this may not be the right dept for this question but thought I'd ask anyway.
In another forum that I frequent daily you can copy a pic from a different website and paste it into a thread. You get a decent sized picture in your posting.
I've tried it here and it doesnt seem to work (well at least when I preview my reply)
The only way I've been able to upload a pic is in a small attachment that doesn't even show as a thumbnail in the posting.
Am I missing something here?
I see plenty of posts with good size images.. thats all

As I don't have enough posts up to start a new topic.Would it be audacious of me to suggest that there be a topic/section dedicated to new releases of all persuasions (3)from the USA?
I have no particular allegiance to a brand or even a preferred brand really........as I truly love them all ........and I like to read news of the latest from the US.
The pick ups qualify too ?.

You should be able to start a new post, only Admins (not even moderators) can set up new topics.
So if I get this right, a new category called something like:
New and Future Releases
the under that 4 sub categories:
GM
Ford
Chrysler
Exotic
Let me know if that is what you are thinking and I'll discuss it with the other Mods and Admin

Yea I think so . I think that if members come across something in their travels re new muscle cars news links/video etc. then it could be added to the forum for info and discussion.

Hi guys, my names Ben. I've had a couple of modded cars, starting with your basic EH with a hot six and triples, and have been working on a twin turboed VL for a while now.
I'm thinking about getting rid of that now and building a 67/68 Camaro.
My old man recently retired, and built himself a 69 Mustang (I'll post some pics, it's v nice), and I much prefer driving it to the VL. There's just a massive level of class that you don't get with more modern cars.
So, anyway, I'm working in London for a while, putting my pennies away, keeping an eye out for a project car when I get back (don't really know when that is).
In the mean time, I'm going to lurk around the forum, soaking it up.

Thanks Chris, it's been a belter of a winter so far, and still pretty ordinary at the moment, but hey, what would you expect from Britain....
I'll get some pics up of the 69 soon, I've got a few progression pics of the build, from a faded import, to what it is now.

Hi,
Just want to introduce myself as i'm new to the forum. A few of you here may know me as i try to get to as many car events as possible and am involved in the running of WA Hot Rod and Street Machine Spectacular and more recently giving a hand with Gazzanats in Collie.
When it comes to cars, I swing both ways with both Ford and GM product in the garage.
Most recent acquisition is a 68 Camaro convertible, SS clone. Got a few bits to tidy up then it's off to rego. Hopefully we will be cruising in a couple of weeks.

Hey everyone!
Just joined this forum and can't wait to have a look around.
I am currently in the process of purchasing a 1968 dodge Charger to rebuild, and should arrive in the next few weeks!
I'm in South Australia, in a little outback town called Roxby Downs. I will be moving back to Adelaide in a few years and needed a project to keep me going!
I'm married with 3 kids (this car will be a family project), so you will see me bob up from time to time with some general questions.

Steve

Thanks Sir Geo, looking forward to meeting some of your members at your next meet, a couple of your members Chris and Barry have been at me to join up so now i have. My current ride is a 1957 2 door belair which i have recently imported from NY its a pretty stock Nos matching car and is very calm and serene compared to my last car which was a 68 Camaro Z28 Clone which couldnt sit still and just wanted to go fast all the time.
I wasnt to sure if the old belair would count as a US Muscle car in its current form but they can be made to keep up with te best.
Cheers

Hi Guys
Little about myself, I'm 23 and currently, my car is a modified VY V6 Commodore but am very seriously looking at importing a Chvrolet Chevelle. While doing some research I stumbled across the forum and have found it a godsend so far.
My favourite US muscle cars are the Chevy Chevelle and Dodge Viper but also love Dodge Chargers and have a bit of a soft spot for Mustang fast backs. Last year I travelled to the US and was lucky enough to drive a RT/10 viper and that convinced me that I needed more cylinders and a cooler, more unique car.
Cheers

Well, just signed up and wanted to say hi, so... Hi!
I'm Ben, 16 years old, lives in the boring Holland (the country of the drugs and windmills, for the ones who don't know where Holland is). Here you can get your driving licence when you are 18, which i'm not, so the chance that i'll be driving a bad ass muscle car in this bad ass small country with the bad ass small roads and the bad ass high prices on insurance and gas isn't that big. So i'll just join the club to get to know some nice muscle owners, give my opinion (which isn't that bad as it sounds) and just have a good time. My dad owns a bad ass car btw, it's a Suzuki Wagon R+. a whopping 1.3 liter 4 cilinder engine which produces 94 horses at 6000 rpm... The only cool thing about the car are it's 13 inch (Wow...) alloy wheels and metallic black paint... it does a 0 to 60 mph in what? 12.8 seconds! well, enough joking around now. Hello to everyone!
