better of with a complete car, would cost a fortune to buy all the pieces needed to build up a shell. Even if you replace half of the parts, still better than replacing all of them.

Definitely. I know it sounds hard and you want to do a car now but save up some money and buy something that is in decent shape to begin with. I basically started with a shell and if I had my time again I wouldnt do it. I've never had a lot of money to throw around and I never will, but the money that has gone into mine could have bought two drivers..easy. All the little things you need really add up quickly on top of the big ticket items.
I dont know your circumstances but thought I'd give you something to think about if your on a tight budget.

When considering the amount of money I've spent on my no-numbers, no-options, plain Jane over the years, it would have been way smarter to just buy a house. Then in 10 years time, let capital gains buy a real COPO for me.
Then I'd have a house and COPO for the same damn money.

In my case, the problem with being young, is being dumb. -and very impatient. :o

Funny how when we are young the majority of us cant wait to modify our cars rather than just leave them stock. Obviously not thinking long term.
Then when we grow older we look for all those hard to get parts that we threw out years ago.

One good example is a 57 Chev front bench seat for a two door sedan, a rare creature these days.

yeah, street runner, stick to the advice of these senior members,
trust me, get a complete car - I've nearly gone the shell way, but cut my losses and bought a complete
