Hi All,

I currently have my car on a rotisserie and need to take to a media blaster to get blasted. My rotisserie is a standard setup similar to the following:

Question 1
Has anyone transported their car to a media blaster on a rotisserie to get blasted. If so what sort of tow truck did you use?

Question 2
Does anyone know a media blaster in Melbourne they can recommend?

Question 3
Does anyone have a car trolley that they are no longer using that I can purchase to place my car onto to bring to the media blaster.

I used a flatbed truck as well as a tandem trailer. Strap it down, no problem.

I would only recomend a soda or plastic blaster. Do not use sand, glass or Garnet. Much too abrasive and the friction/heat will erode and warp your panels.

I had the plastic blaster blast mine while on the rotisserie. No need for a trolley. :)

Hey Blackoutsteve,

Thanks for the tip. As for blasting I am sticking with either soda or plastic. At this stage i'm unsure which one works out cheaper. I was told Soda doesn't remove bog very well however not 100% sure.

Do you recall where you got your car blasted and how much it cost you?

Also, did you have much trouble rolling the car on rotisserie onto trailer?

I think I will end up rolling the

I used Chris to do my hanging panels.

Did a great job, but wasn't shy emptying my hip pocket. That being said, he stuffed around and did all the inside of my 4 doors. Lots of work apparently.

The blasting cost about $550 which did include glassing the subframe, but the guy who did it isn't there anymore.
Getting the rotisserie on the trailer is easy with 2 lengths of timber as ramps/skids and the trailer's winch.

Plastic or soda wont remove rust. Not sure about filler. Using plastic, the floor came up like brand new. http://img274.imageshack.us/img274/3171/rotisserie0434vd.th.jpg (http://img274.imageshack.us/i/rotisserie0434vd.jpg/)
I can get a guy's number who does soda for you if you want. I have never used him or seen his work, just know of him through a mate.

If u rip the paint etc off with a low speed polisher, say 40 grit first, try not to hit bare metal, and u will save some time with the blasters, and sum cash..
