Good news for me PWR has made and supplyed me for the chevelle with a replacement for the one they made a year ago that has been nothing but a hassle since I first fitted it, It leacked in first week before car was even on road, they said it was electroylis from stray current but electricins and rad shops could not find any they repaired it twice free of charge but it leacked again so after email and phone calls they offered to replace it but they want me to rubber mount it which I will no problems I Am happy its a small win and is good after sales service even after nearly a year I hope this one lasts longer

That`s great bud, I think some of these major companies are finally realising how small the car world is so it pays to look after us.

Is it essential to rubber mount Ally radiators ? . My Aussie Desert Cooler version is hard bolted on with no problems for 2 years so far but will change if needed ???

I think it`s all a crock of the proverbial to me but it probably does`nt hurt to mount them on rubber for vibration purposes.Although when you think about it, the bolts go through the radiator into your support panel on a 69 therefore any 'stray voltage' or vibration would br carried through by your bolts anyway in theory, unless you insulate the bolts as well as the radiator. Just my 2c

I believe the rubber mounting is to prevent chassis flex cracking the radiator.
The rubber allows the bolts to move slightly, rather than twisting the radiator.
Stray current would still be a problem if its there.

i put a pwr radiator in my vet 2 years ago. had the same problem. 3 weeks later got a leak. same old story get told its electrolysis. they repaired it and it leaked again. i had a electrolysis test and was in the safe levels. 2 years later its going well after they re-cored it but i did lose 4 mm of each tank to do that. i now run electrolysis arrestor and some bars stop leak just to be sure but i will never go alloy again...from now on im just sticking with copper/brass which cools just as well as alloy in my opinion. i say this because if i put in a 160 stat in my camaro with a 4 core copper/brass radiator it will drop to that temp so realistically alloy is all not necessary to me and doesnt have the lifespan or ease of repair as a standard copper/brass.

They never replaced mine even after I proved to them that there was NO stray current!!
Gotta have a win sometimes though.. Good stuff Craig...
