I spoke to the organiser. I have two problems i have to overcome:
1. Summernats is the weekend before. I think I will struggle to do both back to back 1 weekend after the other, in both cost and time away from work
2. Cost. So far i am looking at $3K for the car to be professional shipped both ways....I am looking at alternatives
I am serious about trying to get there, just need all the stars aligned....
Maybe some of the westoz forum member would chip in to help with the cost Chris, I know I would if it meant seeing your beast in the flesh, or even a quick jolly !! :-)

I hear ya Chris, it's not a cheap exercise, cost me more than $3k just in fuel for my road trip earlier in the year. Some alternatives - Sponsorship, USMuscle fund raising, donations ???

Marty, sponsorship is one option. I have approached PPG given it's covered in layers of their product...waiting to hear back...

No paying $155 per ticket to a Chris Isaac concert for my parent outlaws is a rip off' let alone the torture I would have to endure. Now $42 to look at boobs and burnouts all day is good value. I was at motorvation today and checked out your ride Marty, very nice mate. Absolute mad burnout by that orange blown VP ute i think it was "wanna go". It was killing me not being able to bring my car, maybe next year.
So yep a good day all round but still got sunburnt even though it was a cooler day.

I went down late this afternoon for a look see...
Lucky I didnt pay to get in!!
if you like pre-75 cars you'll be very disappointed, the cars I saw were awesome but the numbers of pre75 stuff were low.
10-15 camaros, 3 chevelles, a couple of dodge chargers, 1 mustang:eek:, 10 or so hot rods, a handfull of 55-57 chevs.
even early holden and falcon stuff was getting light on the ground.
Out of 700 cars I guess I thought there would be a little more older cars
Hopefully next year we can get a few of the members on here down for entry......the Cranksters hot rod club ( I am a member) are going to have another shot I think, we went 4 years ago with 20 cars and had a great time, but none of us felt we should do it every year

I agree Alan just not enough late model commodores there really :)
Great to meet Marty and see the cars they looked awesome as did Angelos.
I think Motorvation need to cut it down for quality not quantity.
Its the first time I have been since it was at Burswood so I have missed a few :P
Not much trade stuff there either, always nice to see goodies to buy.
Justin in his Commodore ute certainly had the crowd going with his firey burnout so that was definitely a highlight.

We were there Sunday.. I think the temp was more like 36  My legs got rather burnt.
Sounds like Marty's action was mostly Saturday, bugger we couldnt make it that day & for some reason we missed you & the beasts in pits yesterday. Truthfuly we didnt get through all the cars as it meant we were missing the action out on the track
I took some 200+ photos & have put most up on facebook, links here:

There were def lots of late model Holdens, but everyone looked to be having lots of fun.
Next year we hope to get the el Camino & Cuda involved.

Some great pics there. Had a great weekend, always a lot of fun when i get behind the wheel of the race car. Kept the smaller tyres on the rear for most of the weekend as i was having too much fun :D The streeter came home a little bruised though :o
Caught up with quite a few forum members during the weekend for a chat as well.

635 was the highest overall Mitch, by a Torana i think it was (forced induction). None of the late model big HP boys were there this year - not sure why. They gave me a couple of dust collectors for highest BB naturally aspirated which was 513hp & highest naturally aspirated overall. Thought it would be a little more but was also expecting to lose some hp with with the mufflers on as well.
