Hi all,
Well i finally got some pics and have attempted upload hope it works. She's just a base hardtop coupe that originally had a small block in her then the previous owner and all credit to him decided to put in a 468ci BB, 5pd TR 3550 tremec, 9" LSD 28 spline and painted her in a colour called shimmer violet (dark purple). I never was a fan of the purple colour and had every intention to take it back to bare and paint her black and put some stripes down the center, but after seeing the colour it grew on me and also the wife threatened divorce if i ever touched the paint. I have although given her a light sand and refinish in clear and changed the flames to silver crystal fx. I still cop some flak from the bros in laws one who is a Ford fan and the other Mopar but i dont hold that against them. The engine unfortunately was a different story although it was recently rebuilt there were a few shortcuts taken which now have been rectified. Im about to pull her off the road which is going to kill me but ive got big plans for her especially the drive train, handling set up and interior work. After ive done the camaro i have to help the younger bro with his 67 firebird then the old man with his 69 camino, so ive got some busy times ahead. Ive just finished building a workshop at the back of my block and im sure it will get plenty of use. She's no RS or SS but she's a chev and thats all that matters.
She is sweet as Richard :D, really like the colour. My wife would love it too, she is mad for purple / burgundy. Is that your workshop in the last pic? Is so it looks like an awesome set up!

Richard,
That's an awesome colour, about 4 years ago I looked at a 67 here in Oz (Melb) with a blown 502 that was painted in a very similar colour (but like a bowling ball). I'll dig out pics. Just a great looking colour.
So what's the plan with the driveline ?

Brett,
That is the one. Guy also owns a black one with ghost flames. Runs Pakenham Transmission from memory. I would have bought it but he really really didn't want to sell it even though he had it advertised...
We talked numbers but in the end, couldn't twist his arm.
I will post up pics

Yeah Mark at LRP is good value, he helped out heaps so the pit nazis would pass her through, there were a few days i would like to forget trying to get her through the pits.

Yeah, I went a bit overboard with the workshop aka dogbox. Took me 4 months to build.

Richard,
welcome aboard. Did that one come from Qld, it looks familiar?
Sheridan.
Yeah, and there is nothing wrong with base models, it is not like many of us keep them standard anyway.

Younger bro is saving for a complete rebuild. Its not pretty, and she was abused, it will take time to heal her.

Good to hear Richard as Mark is my best mate, we've known each other since i was born. What suburb do you live in Richard as i seem to remember that Mark told me that you live pretty close to me in Bibra Lake ?

Martly, I might need Marks help with mine if I keep going the way I'm going! Seriously, if I have major issues after my first pit run I will definetly give him a bell!
Hijack over ;)

Hi Greg , I got an email from Frank, he has nothing but praise for you. Ive put a big order in with him, G link set up with Varishock quickset 2 double adjustable coil overs, fab 9" housing with jig welded brackets, nodular center section with 31 spline Tru Track, 31 spline axles for 56" overall length, 3/4" swaybar, set of mini tubs, DSE front step 2 suspension kit and a wilwood 12.2" Front (6) piston Dynapro, 12.2" (4) piston Dynalite, Drilled and Slotted. Plan is to rip out the tired old 468 and repaint engine bay in the shimmer violet colour and get the flames redone to look real by Creative works (I hear nothing but good things about James the airbrusher) and then get her cleared again by a mate in Myaree. Shoehorn the new 540 and TKO600 Should be fun putting in all these parts. Id like to say that it will be ready by the next Big Als....ha!

Hi Richard, that's only cause I pay him. On the Wilwoods give me a call tomorrow, as far as I'm aware you won't get them over the pits.

Richard, do a search under Wilwood in here and you will find some info regarding legalities of them. Some people seem to run them but the consensus is that they won't pass the pits. Something to do with a piston seal/'o'ring from memory?

Just an update in the Wilwoods they now have a new model released with dust boots. The 4 piston Dynapro's were only released the other day so Im getting a set of them. Frank has asked that i pass on to everyone the release of these and that the 6 piston Superlite's is due in a few months.

Yeah right hooker, pity they let the rego run out. I think the beetle belongs to the chick that was selling the firebird.
